TWU negotiations.........what?

TWU Informer is no TWU minion. He tried to replace the TWU with AMFA but didn't get enough cards signed to overcome the inflated employee lists submitted by AA. He's right when he says the failed TA has cost him (and thousands of others) more than $14,000 in wages since it was defeated.

The way I saw it.

There were enough cards signed but the TWU and AA together used TWA deceased and resignations from as early as 20 years before card filing, along with AA and TWA fueling qualified fleet service service clerks that had their fueling jobs outsourced to inflate the elgibililty list.

The TWU has not enough political influence to make decent advancement for the membership, but did have enough political influence to stop a vote by their own membership on the issue of representation of worker choice. And they used money stolen from my paycheck to buy that influence...

And anyone that thinks I am a TWU minion needs to be examined for brain wave failures or obviously is another emotional outburst instead of factual information.

And yes the failed T/A has cost me and thousands more at least $17,000.00 now and counting daily.

All I was promised was...

Retro is still on the table

If the T/A were to pass we would be leaving money on the table.

and, my favorite of all

The best deal never comes until the 11th hour of the 29th day.

Once this is over, I know I could have used that $17,000.00 to pay sa replacement for the prefundung medical so I wouldnt have to endure more TWU BS and Company wide ignorance a day past the age of 55

I dislike the TWU probably more than anyone on this board.
But when you look company wide, and industry wide, removing the TWU is not going to fix the real problem.

The real problem is organized labor is sitting on their duffs with a reliance on laws and law makers for their survival and advancement.

FAILURE is all that has come from this strategy.

Want to stop the decimation? Organize all Industry Workers into a movement to shut down transportation of commerce for about 3 days.

Anything less is just feel good whimpering and equates to nothing more than a band-aid on wound bleeding bad enough to require a Tourni.quet
Well, I'm a close second!

You're right...the laws are stacked against the middle-class worker. Labor collects your money and funnels it their political friends. It will take labor unrest and a march to congress in order to change things. If I was the president of the APA, I would advise the 5,207 retirement eligible pilots to put their paperwork in for retirement tomorrow. Then, bring that paperwork and not only shove it down Brundage's throat, but judge Lane too.

Even if you were to place every airline worker in one union, you still have to convince them to walk out as ONE. The economic contraints placed on families today makes it virtually impossible to strike. And, even if you do walk, history has shown that there are scabs waiting in the wings to take your job. In Europe, unions tell the airlines when they're walking. Airlines and businesses adjust schedules to coincide with their walkouts.....something that WILL NEVER happen here. If we were to walkout tomorrow, unannounced to AA, what do you think our labor funded DEMOCRATIC president will do???? You got it!

Crap his pants? And because it is election year read from teleprompter to the public that his friends in labor are calling the disgruntled workers back to work?

Industry wide walkout would cook the goose and for once in my lifetime, labor would once again have the advantage.

why do suppose Labor was powerful 40 or 50 years ago? Because all unions stuck together. 22 years ago when I first opened our CBA and saw "NO STRIKE NO LOCKOUT" I thought it was a joke. What weapon besides striking does labor have at it's disposal?? And, Big Labor allowed that in the RLA how many years ago, and to this day and all the money thrown at their political buddies, they can't get that changed. Really???? Labor needs just ONE thing changed in the RLA that will shift power to labor. This is where labor has failed!!

In 1984, when I asked about the No Strike / No Lockout clause, I was informed that it is better to get them on the inside. Continue to work but, you know don't over do it. While I didn't get a real answer to the clause, I got the point. The strike was no longer a tool that unions had.

But hey, there is a labor victory in Cushing, Oklahoma today.
