Oh, ok now that I remember. I was already at the top so I did not receive that increase to the top.Around 1992 or 1993 when the contract extension was voted in, B-scalers went to a five year top out.

Yeah I was going to mention that because at my 89 seniority it was huge. But for some hired before or after it was a non-issue.Around 1992 or 1993 when the contract extension was voted in, B-scalers went to a five year top out. I had six or seven years and went straight to top scale. It was a pretty huge jump if I remember correctly.
The wage is around $ 20/hr. Part of the offer included Hawaii with a +$8.00 increase.
Or a spouse making $30+$28 an hour in Hawaii, works if you have three roomates who are also making $28 an hour.
Or a spouse making $30+
"VOTE NO! We are leaving money on the table and retro is still on the table.
We cannot keep saying we'll get 'em next time. We must get 'em now!"
Bob Owens 2010
No, Bob Owens was attempting to apply old style unionism to negotiations and the company was not afraid. If those represented by the TWU would have negotiated separate contracts, the company could have achieved their goals. Now some in the work groups are in the position of getting laid off. The old style walk out does not work anywhere anymoreWow dude give it up. you really sound like a broken record. So Bob Owens wanted to stand up to the company and you didn't, let it go.
Remember job fairs are only held in KC, and they must include jobs for struck airlines like the scab fair they had a few years back.I don't understand why more MRO's are not holding job fairs in Tulsa like AAR. It will be interesting to see what they have to offer.
I went over to Hangar 2A and talked to some A/C cleaners. They said some cleaners had quit and they are having to get labor loans to wash aircraft. They were told that it would be a good idea to look for a new job per their manager B.Pike and supervision. A/C cleaners are disgruntled and said they have time limits washing aircract. Management said its best just to write up DWMS on cleaning items in the hangar rather than washing it completely on the wrack. QA is also getting lax at what is required of the aircraft to be clean or presentable.Another issue, I am not totally familiar with the Aircraft Cleaner staffing here at TUL, but we are having problems getting the aircraft cleaned. There are not many left.
It would be difficult without the TWU volunteers since they are keeping a very low profile.Remember job fairs are only held in KC, and they must include jobs for struck airlines like the scab fair they had a few years back.

Tex-Mess, are you insinuating the KC folks are scabs?Remember job fairs are only held in KC, and they must include jobs for struck airlines like the scab fair they had a few years back.
Not at all. If you don't know the story, about the same time that NWA mechanics were going on strike years back, the local in KC held a job fair at the base that had recruiters who were looking for scabs at NWA.Tex-Mess, are you insinuating the KC folks are scabs?
