TWU negotiations.........what?

I am more than willing to have a constructive conversation with you.

The half sick day was already a penalty for the AMT's. Now with the issue facing all of now, there are really only two choices, the use of your earned time before having your employment adjusted or find a way to get your money, as have been posted.

I do not believe that the TWU has been approached on this issue. If you would like I will do so at the largest local in the system. I believe that this is a very valid issue. Whether or not the union does anything, people will know.
Yeah, Buck I believe this should be addressed as do the guys on my crew. IMHO, the twu should look at this issue. It would sure go along way to help guys that are about to be shown the door with no chance of recall. I understand many will dismiss this but it`s money that will be left behind. It is worth looking at.

Can I assume your one of those tough guys that chooses to come to work and share you sickness with those around you? You've been played Player. $25 per day value when you were to retire or 1/2 pay option showed how much they cared about you. I can bet many of us haven't been suckered into banking such a high number as yourself.
Yes, good point. I see this all the time. The Company/union has everyone so angry that sick time is being used at will. Whether it is for sick time or off on a nice day. Many actually use sick time for exactly that. We asa group are placed in a position of using our vaction for sick and other personal health issues. Myself, I used all of my sick and vaction time the last 5 years as sick time, with no choice.

Really no need to read all. You can get the gist of many of your guy's post from just reading a couple!
(i.e. disagree, attack attack attack)
Yes and I am as guilty as anyone else. But my biggest flaw is digressing from the topic.

Hey assume away! No I come to work as expected and do my job. Now with 22 years on the property I`m going to be shown the door. I do not think it is unreasonable to expect to recover that "banked" sick time. Since you like to "assume", I`ll assume you are one that burns all his sick and vacation time then whines about it to your coworkers. Who then hold a "hot dog benefit" for you becase you have exhausted all your sick time! Yeah, I`ve seen your type on the floor. No wonder this company is failing.

Hey,get it right sport! Isn't it barbeque Bologna that gets the higher turnout? Du***SS!

Maybe the union could negotiate a use of the sick time bank for those retiring?

We don’t have the luxury of time as we did in Section 6 negotiations and need resolution on these contractual changes immediately, not months from now. That requires a serious and deliberate approach to negotiations,” the company said in its update.

And this wasn't blatantly admitting that they were dragging out negotiation??

Are you indicating that the terms of these "negoiations" might be different from any of the other carriers that have filed?

No, more like the compAAny admitting they moved further away from a compromise while the TWU got closer, something Bob Owens has said many times. If true, why would the union not go public with that information?

I do have the luxury of time. In fact I enjoyed eight long years of luxury. Back in '03 the company rushed us into concessions to stay out of bk. So now the company expects me to jump when they say jump.

I'm in no rush what so ever. I will vote no on anything the company "offers" me because I would rather trust the bk judge.

Confidentiality Clause?

Do you believe that your dues buys you anything?

Yes, My dues buy me a hot dog once a month, a calander every year (i have 22 of them)and a shirt every 5 or 6 years. That seems like a good value.

The hotdog is obvious, as well asbthe calendar, but the shirts I do not understand, however I do know some members who will nit even clean their guns with those rags. HISS HISS! IAM the Union!
