TWU negotiations.........what?

What you need to realize is that the TWU is only looking out for the TWU not it's membership. They will do what ever it takes to keep the maximum amount of dues coming in. A business is a business. Good luck to you all. The End

Yeah, most of us agree - we would just as soon take our chances with the judge who doesn't have a dog in the fight. As opposed to the likes of Jim Little and his dues driven agenda. It's easy to imagine Little attempting to craft another 2003 type deal, where proposes to deal away more pay and benefits from the AMTs in exchange for keeping a few more dues payers on the clock - only to have them laid off a few months down the road.

The Judge does not negotiate or write your CBA, the company if it seeks an abrogation will submit its best and final offer to the court for imposition, he doesnt rewrite it nor tweak it.

You just couldn't resist. I've read the BK sec 1113 process, and understand what role the judge plays, and what considerations have to be weighed with regard to all concerned parties. Hey...thanks for your concern though.

Would it be to much to ask the union, to which millions of dollars in compulsory dues are paid, for an update on this weeks negotiAAtions?

Why is the TWU 514 posting a comparison between our T/A and the United IBT agreement in their Q&A on the website??

How does our failed T/A compare (wages, benefits, pension, work rules, etc..) to UAL/ IBT TA?

Because several members have asked.....
"How does our failed T/A compare (wages, benefits, pension, work rules, etc..) to UAL/ IBT TA?

United Recent M&R Agreement / AA Failed May 2010 M&R TA Side – By – Side

Several members have asked how the recently ratified IBT Mechanic and Related Contract at United compares to the May 2010 TWU Mechanic and Related Tentative Agreement that failed to ratify. Below is a side by side comparison summarizing the key contract provisions from the two agreements using AMT pay rates".

When you ask for information on the current negotiations you get nothing, but when you ask for meaningless comparisons on ancient history you get details. It's nothing more than a diversion of what is soon to come and not wanting to take the blame for the outcome.

Because the company financial groups have yet to tell the TWU what the details will be.

Bankruptcy may fix the balance sheets of American Airlines but it wont fix a flawed airline with bad morale!
They can hire as many consulting groups, management, time study, coaches, sick time harrassers, bankruptcy experts....etc
If they think their plan of assaulting our contract again and bringing the whole industry again is going un-noticed, think again.
The ice is thin as it is and what is brought back to the table will bring critical evaluation upon our union and the company.

I agree with you Chuck as far as how thin the ice is for the company and the union, but I sure hope your expectations are still not viewing an offer better than the failed T/A.

I am waiting for the calavary of the AFL/CIO and the Transport trades division to save us all!
