TWU negotiations.........what?

AA will take a bigger bite out of the apple now, not equal or smaller as you have claimed, and if that isn't enough one or two more bites after that.
1113 (c - Your Worst Nightmare = And You Thought the T/A Was Bad!

that's probably the truest and most thought out statement you have made. the only difference is the size of the apple post ta the apple would be a whole lot smaller to bite out of!

Do you really think that if we took the ta that right about now the option to sell off 25% of maintenance would not be exercised? when the deal for new airplanes was cut do you not think that a BK provision was not a part of the deal? can you say joint venture?

Don't worry about me i'm good. remember options. always have an exit strategy

Do you not realize that the company would have taken more in bankruptcy anyhow even if you voted the T/A in, things change, we gave concessions in September of 2002 at US and by December they came back for more and got more.

You are truly misguided if you think ratifying the T/A would spare you from any pain in chapter 11, I lived it twice within two years at US.

I know of a lot of A & P mechs that were bumped by non-A & P in the past rifs. They thought it couldn't happen then. Don't fool yourselves into thinking that the compAAny can't/won't do whatever they want. Remember: "They can do that Brother. Our hands are tied!"

Title I Platers, Welders, Machinist are classified as non licensed AMT's. This group can bump any licensed A&P with less seniority per contract (except c/c's).

You cant bump to the line unless you have an A&P, they couldnt sign the book.

That's correct, as long as you have the licenses required for the job, and you must pass the qualification tests. So, a non-licensed welder, plater, composite mechanic cannot bump an A&P mechanic at OH or Line. Same for an A&P trying to bump a welder....can't do it if he/she can't pass the welding test. The A&P is required per the FAR's in order to sign off the E6 & E58's. You need to check the GPM, as well.

Wrong at the overhaul bases senority rules in a RIF a unlicensed AMT can bump a licensed one, there are many unlicensed AMT's working on airplanes in Tulsa.

I would'nt be surprised if there were Illegals working in tule, thats the AA way these days!!

Good luck bumping to the line without an a&p... I dont see that happening as you will be useless to the operation

The judge and AA could just decide to red circle bases so they can retain there performance and skills in those certain areas ... You have to remember that the judge and AA want cuts to happen quickly , they don't have time for the bump and roll process in which could last for months ...

For an example if they cut in Tulsa AA could red circle DWH and AFW especially TAESL ...
Anything could happen , this is such a dynamic situation things are changing every minute ...

How many times do you all have to be told, the judge doesnt negotiate nor does he write the CBA.

He only rules on motions put forward to him by the company.

The judge has nothing to do with what happens except ruling on motions, they dont rush things, the process usually takes three to four months for section 1113 negotiations to happen.

Where are you people pulling this from?

The average airline bankruptcy is usually a year to more.

Most of this crap about the judge and the red circle is coming from the twu to lower expectations, I have three e-mails all stating that union reps in Tulsa are telling them that they are closing AFW and downsizing Tulsa plus red circling several different areas. Your wasting your time trying to make these folks understand the process but it is yours to waste.
