TWU negotiations.........what?

Sounds familiar. If you want weekends off, low cost of living, and if you want to vote with the majority, transfer to Tulsa.
I just can't see the majority taking a $5 per hour pay cut to get you an $11.00 per hour raise.
I can see the problem, but I am not part of your solution.
And I say that with Pride. There is my response.

This is why i want seperate contracts, line mech market rate is $43, and that is what I want to make. But what I hear from an OH mech is, ef U move to TUL. I'm willing to give AA whatever productivity rules AA needs (short of farmouts) to give me that raise.

One day you will all learn to stop blaming someone else for your failures.

Let's see it used to be Bus Drivers in NYC, Then it was Fleet Service Clerks, Now it is Overhaul AMT's.

Try Looking in the Mirror.

No, the Line is slowly eliminating all of the work groups that stand in our way to making top dollar like our peers at WN, UPS & Fed Ex. And, it's only a matter of time before WE get our seperate contract from OH. Give US our freedom and flexibilty and maybe you might come out ahead TWU Informant! If you stand in our way....you too will end up like the TWU bootlickers, I mean bus drivers and fleet!

Your own statement "I just can't see the majority taking a $5 per hour pay cut to get you an $11.00 per hour raise."

Which tells me OH is riding line maint coat tales as far as pay goes, and OH knows it. I'm not overly concerned with what OH makes, but what I am concerned with is, what am not getting to maintain OH life style. I don't blame anyone I just want seperate contracts.

OH should want that also, so their concerns are addressed without having to put up with line amt concerns.

Funny you don't mention NWA, United, Alaska, Continental, USAir, and others.
Even though many of those AMT's have already tried your "standing on the Island" approach with all other work groups "eliminated" as you put it.
Take alook at those examples and think again about your plan and why WN, UPS, and FedEx pay their AMT's more.
Ever think it might be because they are profitable companies?

You need to put the crack pipe down and look at reality,

NWA and United is a prime of example of your plan failing miserably. But you have your head in the sand living the dream.

United, Northwest, USAir, Delta, and Continental, all outsource more work than AA does, their line AMT's outnumber the O/H AMT's.
How is that working for them?

When AA files for BK and USair buys up AMR, then the USair AMT's staple your ass to the bottom of their seniority list like you did TWA, then you will have something to complain about and another work group to blame.

And the day I think you are getting $45 per hour, I will get my A&P license and bump your ass with my 1983 Seniority.
Then you can really blame me for shafting you. Until then, try quit whining and take some action.

Ever think WN, UPS & Fed Ex are profitable because they shed OH outside of BK. The AMT's at UA, CO, NW & DL all got slammed in BK, along with shedding OH. They're trying to catch up just like WE are. I haven't checked what Alaska & AMFA agreed upon in their T/A but I think they surpassed us too. IF WN did their own OH I'm sure they wouldn't be as profitable as they are now, and they wouldn't be paying $50 an hour. Therefore, TUL is holding back all the amt's from making top dollar.

Who's whining, I'm stating that I want seperate contracts, why am I responding to a non A&P about amt concerns that is the bigger question !!!

Get your A&P then you can come into maint on the bottom of the occupational seniority list, if you think you can do that. Until then don't waste our time with your opinion about AMT issues.

Welders are AMT's and therefore title I. How about a little respect.

Facts like that don't matter to some Birdman. It just goes to show what we are dealing with here.

It's all about emotions and pipe dreams, while common logic, intelligence, and respect are no longer part of who we are.

So if this is what you feel your worth, why then o spineless one did you vote yes for the last TA?

Once Line Maintenance obtains the separation from OH, what union do you want to represent you?

A labor organization that will use all available resources to obtain the highest wages and best benefits in the industry. One that will look out for the best interest of the dues payers not the dues collectors. Probably one not associated with the AFL-CIO.
