TWU negotiations.........what?

No kidding. I'll bet there are plenty of people in Tulsa and Fort Worth who have no idea how nice they have it (and how nice they've had it for many years) compared to employees in the higher-cost cities.

In addition to the major things you listed, how about houses that range from three to five times more expensive than they are in Tulsa or the metroplex?

$50/hr in many of AA's high-cost cities would still not permit employees anywhere near the same standard of living as the current wage allows in OK and TX.

Oh yea.....thanks for reminding me what $150,000 will get them here.....maybe a One bedroom condo?

While Tulsa is still the largest local, by far, the fact is that Tulsa has not had the super majority for years.

And, how many times has TUL or Fleet used the "roll call" vote during negotiations over the last 25 years????

How about the facilities mechanic from ORD that proposed half-pay for sick time?? That guy would have been kicked out of any other union except the TWU.

A little misleading. You assume that the entire Line thinks like you do. Wrong answer. The last vote only showed that only 1,500 need to be swayed the other way. One year later with the big gains you and the fantastic five promised and with all the recalls and new hires worried about the job they just got back there is a lot of discontent. If TUL can get the things they want, the hold outs for GEO pay and other goals you set will fall by the way side. If not for the SMAs and 7 day coverage the last TA would have probably passed and you would be posting how you could have got us $50/hour if we had just gone on strike.

Bob, you should be a spin doctor for Michelle Bachmann

I believe it was the rep from SFO who proposed it.

Did you tell your wife and family you'll be coming to NY so you could pay $12000 in property and school taxes? How about $5000-$7000 a year for heat and electricity? How about $3000 insurance for two cars?

CMON DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Odie's true colors show finally. He talks smack only because he knows he won't pay the price for holding out for the Owen's plan for universal domination! He wants all the lower seniority guys to take the bullet so he can buckle when it's his turn.

Ain't that the truth. The company says boo and Duck787 is on his knees....in a sniveling mess.

How exchanging a $12 an hour raise for work productivity, is bringing me to my knees I do not know. It makes me think that hackman is scared of work (the type of guy that gives unions a bad name).

...Or at the very least never been elected into office again...

Who keeps voting him in, anyway?

Well, I was refering to your past history of falling to your knees and soiling yourself whenever any mention of a possible job action is whispered here. As I've said, its all about you. I guess we know what side your on super hitter, if the Twu has to take action (laugh) Duck787 is an instant scab. Keep up the dream.

What? Please explain.

you are CORRECT................

So, it was the Title I president from SFO that proposed half pay for sick time in exchange to save 1300 facilities maint. jobs. And, I'm sure that got the blessing from the INTL because it saved 1300 dues paying members, is that correct???

What I've said in the past is that going on strike is stupid during this recession, when thousands of AMT's are walking the street. I also said, TUL working weekends is not a strike issue for me. In 2003 ORD was turning down OT and field trips only to watch the other stations continue to work OT and go on field trips. Hackman you operate on theory, not what has happened in recent history. You have to fight your battles from a position of strength, like 2001 when we got the good contract (thank you AMFA). I wouldn't consider a $12 an hour raise for AA gaining productivity falling to my knees.

I hope the line mechs won't be offered less money in the next TA, so TUL won't have to work weekends. I'm sure Owens wouldn't bring that back to NY, now that he has direct action on the negotiations.
