TWU negotiations.........what?

Let me get this straight, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, but will Tulsa and AFW be satisfied with no retro and minimal wage increases, as long as, 7 day coverage is not part of the T/A? Is this all it took to change you guys??? It appears to me that weekends off takes priority over full retro, higher wages and greater benefits.
No one I know is saying that at AFW, anyway, to go 7 day they will have to add heads, and right now their not replacing the ones that transfer, retire, get fired, ect. Don't know about TULE though, thats a 3rd world country just 4 hours up 35.

Well your wrong, but the 7 day coverage language the company was seeking and the SMA classification were "hot topics" within the arguments from the masses to reject the 2010 TA...I believe "Video Bob" even made mention of it within his vote no broadcasts.

You had best get real, because full retro is only a pipe dream.......

For once we agree on something. With the twu negotiating for us we have no chance of full retro. That money will be going somewhere called JL and company. Any union worth a crap would not be telling its members to lower their expectations (BG) or that we need to have realistic expectations (JL).

Well, It may be your pipe dreams, but my realistic dream includes FULL RETRO as an absolute minimum considering we've given the company 17.5% for at least 8 years. Otherwise it's a NO VOTE!!!!

It's pretty pathetic that some members will let AA off the hook and accept less than FULL RETRO.

I understand your passion but cannot support your sentiment over the full retro issue. At this point full retro just will not happen. The dynamics of the whole situation has shifted again with the announcement of new aircraft, but your a grown man and I'm not going to tell you what to do. When the time comes, vote as you wish....

We can agree to disagree, but I think desperation has settled in for many of the members and that way of thinking is playing into AA's and TWU INTL psychological game of stalling. Look, I've waited this long....what's another year or two??? I'm definitely not going to let AA off the hook from taking 160K and counting from me. AA basically screwed me out of my kids college fund. I can wait!!!! I hope the other 11,000 members won't buckle under the threat of disparity.

This post is from a Southwest AMT in regard to their WN/AirTran integration meeting:

"The teamsters finally called AMFA for a meeting. At first the teamsters wanted only 3 members from both sides to meet. One of our National Directors told them (teamsters), "We don't operate like that", "If you guys want to meet, it will be with our entire Senority Integration Commitee, Our LEC Officers, All the attorneys, AND including any and all observers will also attend as well." We just took a list of volenteers to attend as observers at our monthy union meeting this past Wed."

What do the TWU minions think of this sort of behavior by the AMFA people in regard to how they negotiate? Can you imagine how elated the AirTran mechanics must be? .......I can!

So after all this time, you still believe that the International Union is stalling with the Company? What a fairy tale that must be. Mediation began how long ago? Tne mediator made the union downsize the initial bargainning committee from a large mass down to something that was a little more managable. The International didn't do that, the Feds did it. Now the union bargainning committee is larger once again and still there isn't any meeting of the minds between the parties. As far I know, Don V has little voice at the bargainning table, his input is miniscule, which is a big deal for someone who's ego is larger than the 72 oz steak at the BIG TEXAN. The negotiating team is ours, win, lose or strike. It is what we collectively wanted. The bad thing about all the venom spoken here, it scares people plain and simple. Getting a deal done by our negotiators requires support of the masses, not just the rants of the somehow disenfranchised members.

The retro could be paid over a the span of the contract. They can work out a payment plan so it wont be a huge financial burden. Retro or vote NO. They arent getting away with the years of stalling. FU Pay Me

that should be doable, any body put that one forward across the table?

A small appliance bulb just turned on in my head!

We can sell the three years retro to the same leasing company we use for our 737's and make a profit, then lease the payments back and pay the mechanics.
It looks good on paper, and its a win win.

What is the union doing to force the company to bargain in good faith???? That's right, NOTHING!!!

What HAS the union done for the last 3 years to get AA to bargain in good faith???? That's right, NOTHING!!!

Getting a deal done by our negotiators requires psychological warfare, leverage, manipulation, dirty tactics, cheating & whatever it takes to enhance our livelihoods from a company that has been fiscally reckless and irresponsible over the last 8 years.

Yes, it scares employees when management can't MANAGE the business on a daily basis. Yes, it scares employees when they continuously hear from outsiders that management has no choice but to file BK in order to SAVE MONEY.......8 years after threatening to file BK in 2003. What did management do with all that money??????? Every year that passes without a contract the company saves thousands of $$$$$ from pilots, f/a's and the TWU. Would you be in a hurry to settle?????

Let me repeat myself......UNTIL THERE IS A PUSH BY THE MEMBERSHIP TO PUNISH AA FOR STALLING........AA WILL KEEP STALLING MONTH AFTER MONTH AFTER MONTH!!!!!!
