TWU negotiations.........what?

Bob Owens,

Scuttlebutt around the Bunn this morning is that we are getting a new pivot man for our monthly circle jerk because our current mediator is being laid off, and the guy we're getting is pro-company. Also, Jim Little flew in last week for one day of negotiations to tell the negotiating committee to LOWER their standards for the next TA. Care to comment?

I heard the same thing only that he said that the neg committee needs to have more realistic expectations. The new med is suppose to be Larry Gibbons and very pro company. In june jim was saying that big things are going to happen in aug. I guess jim has a crystal ball or he had a little advanced notice and did not let the neg team know about it. When you have the head of your int telling the neg committee to lower their expectations something is very wrong with this union.

Is everyone here so gullible that the truth is still hidden from your minds?

Isn't it obviuos that International/AA Negotiations have been taking place behind the scenes while the Bob Owens' circus of delays has been played out in public to keep you occupied and busy? The only reason the game has now changed is because the back door deal is now completed and now the farse must be propagated in public view. Bob 's unknowingly good job is now finished. So he has been moved to the back of the bus. Like discarded used laundry.

Why do you think AA would continue to hire even though "contentious" negotiations were "taking place"? While new hire defined pensions are in the balance.

We have once again been played for fools just like every negotiations and any other dealings this Union has ever entered into on THEIR behalf, under the guise of OUR behalf.

They are masters at illusions, it just isn't to benefit us as workers, but instead to protect them as a dues collector.

Disgusting.

And no organization can continuously operate in this manner, without eventually taking a fall.

More disgusting, is the membership of this union still follows like sheep, without ever questioning the actions of the dictators.

I'm sure a few people will use Bob as a figurehead to burn in effigy if the next contract proposal is worse or if "restore and more" can't be achieved after eight years.

But, Bob's been in that position before. He knew what he signed on for by choosing to take his positions public to the extent he did (e.g. visiting analysts, YouTube, these forums).
Nothing ventured, nothing.gained.

I have stated before, that there is at least a partial solution to just blindly paying dues. You know as well as I that it takes some of your precious time. However no longer than working one days overtime per month.

The axis of evil, NMB/AA/TWU, knows how to play hardball as evidenced by the silence of the formerly verbose Bob Owens. I have never been under the illusion, as Informer has stated many times, that the real negotiations are being conducted in the open. You don't really think international officers, assassins, crooked politicians, and defense lawyers are paid exorbitant wages to sit on their hands?

Bob--we all understand the gag orders, but I need to confirm what my local leaders are saying that Bob Zimmerman said that the 1/7th rule was not in effect at DWH and sold the rest of the committee on getting rid of it at DWH. A yes/no or can't answer that(yes) will suffice. Thanks Bob, and thanks for at least trying to stop the sellouts.

Asking Bob to ignore a gag order?... Dumb, and a little selfish at that.

Ask your local rep in person, not here where there's an audit trail....

Gee why not brow beat other members of the negotiating committee who represent the bases?

I figure the company and the owners of our contract feel we have been beaten down enough to give in by stalling negotiations long enough that we will take what ever they give us even if it is no better than the one we overwhelmingly turned down. I believe stalling was punishment for turning down the contract. Only thing left is for the powers to be is to make small changes in the contract proposal that benefits only certain stations and then bring on the "BOO" factors to scare or attempt to convince everyone that we better take this or else worse could happen or threatened with being put on ice forever!
The same old play book, same old results
I am getting pretty tired of the same old thing and concessionary contracts

"you are either part of the solution or part of the problem"

You can count on the owners of the contract to try and sell it to TULE. Why change it now?

There are only certain things that will get a "yes" vote from me on any TA and I can't imagine the LWU (Little Workers Union) bringing those items back.

Yeah, baby - with bucketful of rusty tire tools.
