Lets go over the TWU puff factor again......
The Twu came out with strong words recently (aka Puff) just as they did in 2003.
remember the "rejected contract" in early march 2003?
Then the TWU caved in and told us we had to agree to all the concessions.
Well this time is no different, the twu (conley,Burchette, and Little) will talk strong words now(Puff) and then shut up over the holidays. Then after the new year talk some more and nothing will happen until late march where the attitude will change to working with AA to save something again!
How does a company union like the TWU switch hats to pretend to be a real union when they have helped the company get what they want up to this point! now they are trying to convince us that we got screwed! I think we know and stop the TWU from insulting what ever intelligence we have left after their poor representation.

Airline employees have been bound to virtual slavery under the RLA for 71 years. If the RLA provisions are so terrible, why not change things during that 71 years? It's not like Republicans have controlled government during that entire time.
It didn't help you. It helped the pilots, whose pensions weren't terminated and handed to the PBGC. That's what happened to the pilots at UAL, USAir and DAL. The AA pilots (especially the retired ones) really ought to send you guys nice Christmas gifts; without your concessions, their retirement might have been a lot more bleak.
In addition, avoiding Ch 11 might have helped the thousands of overhaul guys. With the huge concessions, AA overhaul is certainly cost-competitive. But without the $20k or $25k annual concessions they gave (to avoid Ch 11), they might have found themselves in the same boat as the airframe overhaul guys at UAL: the unemployment line.

The fact is the pilots lobbied hard for inclusion under the RLA and as written the law isnt that bad, the problem is that over the last 25 years crooked judges have added their own spin to the law, such as the recent ruling over at NWA where a contract can be abrogated and the workers can not strike if they abrogate the contract under BK protection. That ruling directly contradicted the law which in esscence dictates that workers are not forced to work under conditions they never agreed to. The RLA clearly states that if the terms of a contract are altered, especially items that constitute a "Major dispute"-ie-pay, the workers can strike. Nowhere under the BK code was power given to the court to impose new contracts, they could dispense the old one and suggest new terms but the other party always had the right to withdraw their product.
For the first 50 years, while under the "New Deal" democrats the law was not so onerous, workers were restricted but so were companies. Compromise was enabled, however ever since Reagan the RLA has been a tool to force submission of the workers instead.
Why hasnt there been a call for change in the RLA? Because the people that airline workers rely upon are a combination of ignorant and corrupt. They have not been harmed and the NMB makes it difficult for workers to hold their unions accountable.. The RLA provides guaranteed dues flow.

It was not intentional, I did not even know there was a link until your second post, I did go to the link just now and it
looks like there are a whole lot of folks that do not care about being called scabs in fact most of them are smiling,
I can't help but wonder if they are smiling about their Paychecks that they are still getting, if you took some pictures,
of the guys on the picket line most likely they would not be smiling. :unsure:
Humiliation only works on people who actually care what other people think, many of us couldn't care less,
in fact not one day goes by where I don't tell someone that I could care less what they think.

The beauty of the TWU for both of us is that there NEVER will be a strike at AA and that suits me just fine.

since you do not work for AAyou cannot be fired by AA and there is very little chance of anyone from AA knowing who you are and you
