The BOD or Parker for that matter isn't going to do anything unless we have a representative making things happen. Right now our representation is paralyzed and unable to do anything concrete or significant for the people they represent.

Do I need to give a history lesson on the last 2 years of 591 and Harry? What exactly have they done, our representatives, TWU IAM 591 Harry and crew.

Anything,, anything?

It is great that you guys can speak about things that you dream and wish for, but the sad reality is there is no one that can, or will, or has the firepower, or IQ, to go to management and get anything for us.
Darn you're right. I'm not even sure why any of those people negotiating for us should continue bothering? Being as how they're paralyzed anyway, they should just stop and we can take whatever the company is kind enough to give us.

I mean really. If some of you think of yourselves as nothing more than Dog's hoping for a pat on the head and a treat, then you don't deserve any more than that.

BTW here's the last update from those paralyzed fools.

Gain sharing? I asked 591's Owens about gain sharing in our CBA. He said the grievance won't be pursued because it is "bad language" and the TWU can't win. If it is an open grievance and it does have value (it was a swap of LEAAP pay for gain sharing). Can't the TWU push to have a one time lump sum paid out as part of the JCBA and get rid of the clause since it did not work out as planned?
Interesting that he said that to you because I talked to the Pres and VP last month about gain sharing and other things when they were in Miami and they said exactly what you said, that the grievance is open, and they intended on negotiating a settlement of the grievance as a lump sum in the JCBA.

I have been around here long enough to know that I'll believe when I see it and up till now I havent seen anything from these fools.

I have learned over the decades to greatly temper any expectations of anything good because our representatives are very good at screwing things up so that my financial well being gets hurt.

So yea... negotiate away.. See what you can get. Im not counting on anything and whats more I am powerless to replace you even though you have not negotiated a fair and equitable agreement for me since 2001.

Serious question?

Do you hate your life or something? Is it that you don't have enough money? You think if you have more than you're life is going to be that much better? I mean you live in Dallas right? You and dfw gen. Maybe a few more of you live there as well? It's cheap as hell to live there. I know personally.

All I ever read from many of you is constant complaints? It's as if you either like to complain or you like other people reading about you complaining. How absolutely miserable everything is for you?

What happens when you guys finally do get the contract you all think you deserve? Is the $$MONEY$$ going to finally satisfy you? How long do you think it's going to last you before you're miserable again?

I may be thinking out loud here, but what makes some of you guys tick? It's as if you have no pleasure at all? Once in awhile I joke around with you guys but you never get it and all I get back is more anger from you?

I'm sorry but no way in hell did some little ass Union make you guys this way.

Preach it

These whiners are probably on days or afternoons and get all upset when they have to get away from their laptop to work on an airplane.

I'm surprised the negotiations are going so well. Basically we have a NEW company and union from two different companies and unions, with different cultures combining into one company and one Union, it's bound to take sometime. It's not like they're meeting for three days every other month. It's been a tough 15 years for the industry.

Get me an agreement that pays me what I'm worth compared to the rest of the industry and I will stop preaching how worthless you are as a rep.

Why should my compensation package be worth 20%-30% less then my industry peers?

What is a bargaining representative for?  Thus far, I have not seen my bargaining representative do their job where my compensation is concerned. I work for much less, and do the same things as my peers and I have no opportunity to fire you!.

And Bigjets, I do what I am asked to do when I am asked to do it.

i started as a stock clerk over 25 years ago, after the Iraqi war i looked around and said to myself if something happened im worth about $10.00 n hour on a good day on the street. so i made the effort to go to school and get an A&P. as any mechanic will tell you thats just a license to learn. so i spent the next 20 years leaning systems, manuals and how to fix airplanes. am i the best at what i do? no but im always learning. i've been thru the continuous improvement programs the "come on guys lets help" programs and it never improves or helps. believe me i used to drink the kool aid too. in DFW Maintenance we have been promised new equipment  and have received a few narrow body tugs. thats it. the excuse is "they are on order" or the guy that ordered them is no longer with the company. really guys we are getting all new equipment. or have you sat across from an FAA Agent who felt you misinterpreted the manual? you see we have a little more invested in the company and OUR careers then a fleet service clerk. really ask yourself how much are you worth on the street? we spend a little effort and energy on them not just getting your name right on the application and passing the initial drug test then say a fleet service clerk. not belittling you if you are happy as a clerk power to you. I do find it offensive when you come on here with YOUR attitude telling us how bitter we are. exert yourself rodent be all you want to be. i have.

2014 Median Pay $56,980 per year
$27.40 per hour

http://www.bls.gov/ooh/Installation-Maintenance-and-Repair/Aircraft-and-avionics-equipment-mechanics-and-technicians.htm

But my guess is that you make currently closer to $70,000 per year? So let's do a comparison here. According to the CNN cost of living calculator going between if you made $70,000 in Brooklyn NY and you moved to Dallas. Your pricing power goes up to $125,913.

http://money.cnn.com/calculator/pf/cost-of-living/index.html

Now I'm by far not saying that you don't deserve to make the same $$MONEY$$ that others who you choose to compare yourself to make. But i certainly am saying that when it comes to the constant complaining you do on here, you don't really have as big a leg to stand on as you think you do.

At least financially your life doesn't suc as much as you like to complain it does so much and so often on here.

Now if you ever got laid off to NYC making only $70k, maybe I could understand your frustration?
