I am trying to remain open here: Everyone agrees that Doug Parker has said Delta +7% and now +3%. I understand at the time he made that statement, he was referring to the mechanics.

Were there any conversations specifically from Doug Parker where he referred to any other work groups or where the entire Association was included in these statements?

Doug Parker has also stated that "there are a lot of good things in there for the mechanics"

Does anyone know of a town hall where he was clear that the entire Association was meant to gain this Delta plus statements?
It was my understanding from what he said that all work groups would get Delta plus 7 which is now Delta plus 3.  Everyone else in the company got it.

If you go back to what we were making in 03 just before the concessions and add in 2% per year (average inflation) you come out almost exactly to Delta plus 3%. On BASE wages you get "restore". Whatever happened to the slogan "restore and more"?

Is that 3% really satisfactory to you all?

How much have your medical costs gone up since 03? Do you have any offering for retiree medical? How about your frozen pensions? Now to get a 5.5% 401k match you have to subsidize that from your paychecks. Wasn't our pension also a 6.25% multiplier if I remember correctly?

So because Delta cut their Profit Sharing in half for non Union (no contract) workers, you find it more than acceptable that he went back on his original 7% comments that he made all over the system? Those comments were recorded.

Well I guess all I can do is ride the coattails of how the majority might think, even if I don't think the same way.

I am in agreement with you.  It's D or U+7%,  and you guys be throwing that out there and discussing it loudly so the co hears you guys.  If it isn't D+7% ignore the rest of the language and vote No. Once they put the D+7% or more then entertain the other language and vote accordingly.   Just FYI I voted 18-24 months, and I think I will leave it...

I think we have the best aircraft mechanics in the world, but ask my opinion if they can chew gum and hold a wrench in the same time.

If our work groups would have gotten Delta plus 7 eight months ago we would have missed out of the 4% raise that delta got again. This why Parker offered delta plus 3. We will be 3% over delta's top pay

Everyone is talking DL+3 or DL+7 but counter to how Parker paints the new DL + PS not worth that much, DL plans to pay PS worth an average raise of 21.4% according to an article in The Street. I hope the Association pushed for the DL+7 and more if they do not get any type of PS. Settling for DL+3 is the equivalent of a 17.4% pay cut and on the AA side we did 17.5% in 2003. I don't want a repeat of that.

^^^^
This.....

3%.... Chinzy, cheap, sub-par, mediocre.

So what if they cut the PS in half. The profits next year are going to be even higher than 2015 and I suspect 2017 will be an even more banner year?

But let's say the average DL employee only makes out with 10% above his yearly income next year. 10% - 3% = 7%

Oh and what ever happened to that "Revenue Gain Sharing" thing? AA has lot's of revenue coming in and I haven't seen a dime.

W,
Check out AS on the web for bonuses for their employees. They are paying in addition to the monthly performance payouts (avg $1000 per employee) the equivalent of five weeks pay. Parker can step it up and maintain the DL+7 and more. The current environment is better than 2001 when we got 34% raise.

Gain sharing? I asked 591's Owens about gain sharing in our CBA. He said the grievance won't be pursued because it is "bad language" and the TWU can't win. If it is an open grievance and it does have value (it was a swap of LEAAP pay for gain sharing). Can't the TWU push to have a one time lump sum paid out as part of the JCBA and get rid of the clause since it did not work out as planned?

What I want to hear out of Parker is once the full year's financial results are released that ALL employees will see a nice bonus check for a job well done. There doesn't have to be anything written in a contract that prevents the BOD from presenting that financial pat on the back.

Yes the language is, was (BK Gun) bad language. it's "we agree to talk about it later" language. What I heard was that when they did talk about it, the offer was so insulting from the company that it was just shrugged off and forgotten. Sort of like the 100 Grand bars they gave out all those years ago.

Let's see if the new AA has the ability to show a little good faith? And hollow "Thank You's" really don't cut it in my book.

BTW AA Leaders and BOD since we know you read these pages. If DL gave out 21% in PS and the average worker made $50,000 last year, that comes out to an extra check of $10,000 that they are sharing with the employees who gave them their glorious financial results.

Oh but thanks for the new jackets you gave us. What? No tote bags?

Teh AAL BOD needs to put a muzzle on Parker. He was at a DFW town hall and explaining the debt strategy and says AAL has "excess cash". How about steering some of that excess cash our way. He said he is going to use it for another stock buyback because the last ones drove the stock price up so well. It may make the EPS look better to Wall Street but he could have paid down debt and floated the employees a PS check. It is open to debate as to whether buying down debt would drive up stock price I know but the other airlines that are have the same if not better stock price performance than AAL.

Time for AAL BOD to do the right thing. Share some of that oil price windfall with the employees.

The BOD or Parker for that matter isn't going to do anything unless we have a representative making things happen. Right now our representation is paralyzed and unable to do anything concrete or significant for the people they represent.

Do I need to give a history lesson on the last 2 years of 591 and Harry? What exactly have they done, our representatives, TWU IAM 591 Harry and crew.

Anything,, anything?

It is great that you guys can speak about things that you dream and wish for, but the sad reality is there is no one that can, or will, or has the firepower, or IQ, to go to management and get anything for us.
