That's a BLS statistic and is completely skewed to include all. Not line technicians working at the majors. I resent you even throwing crap like that up, don't be an idiot.
FYI, you have just been schooled on how the A$$ regards your skills.
It's not fair that you can buy 2 loaves of bread...

Until the Ass puts a #1 industry leading contract in place they are nothing full of lies and BS!!.  Paying $660 a year to union who can't do that at the worlds largest most profitable airline is inept/corrupt plain and simple!!

But my guess is that you make currently closer to $70,000 per year? So let's do a comparison here. According to the CNN cost of living calculator going between if you made $70,000 in Brooklyn NY and you moved to Dallas. Your pricing power goes up to $125,913.
http://money.cnn.com/calculator/pf/cost-of-living/index.html
Now I'm by far not saying that you don't deserve to make the same $$MONEY$$ that others who you choose to compare yourself to make. But i certainly am saying that when it comes to the constant complaining you do on here, you don't really have as big a leg to stand on as you think you do.
At least financially your life doesn't suc as much as you like to complain it does so much and so often on here.
Now if you ever got laid off to NYC making only $70k, maybe I could understand your frustration?
look here it's not about where you live . We sign for work accomplished and are responsible for our work . Your a typical twu rep using the bread cost the same. So why are you so against amts I know why you hate us like the twu/iam do.we deserve what we're worth . And I'm not letting you are the association put us down any longer . You do not have a a&p license so you do not know what we go thru . So why don't you stop your bs about where some one lives you sound like a company representatives saying crap like that .but the twu being the company union I can see why you talk both sides

#1 I'm not a TWU rep. Not an IAM rep. Not a rep at all in any way. No pin. No chair. No jacket.

#2 100% not against USA, FAA certified Aircraft Maintenance, Licenced Proffessionals. I've supported your causes, signed your petitions and even wrote my elected leaders with my concern of 3rd party maintenance work being performed overseas.

#3 Hate you? Lol. Aren't we the Drama Queen now. Far from it. Very very far from it. But I do hate the constant Beeatching, moaning, complaining, woe is me pity the poor souls fest I read on here all the time.

#4 What does having an A and P license have to do with how miserable you sound all the time? Jeez you make it sound like its a Scarlet Letter or something. What is it the pee test? Other people can get away with smokin Doobies and you can't? A lot of jobs in life require a license so?

BTW again. TWU is an ancronym. Some paint stenciled on a door or T-Shirt. It's not a living being but a collection of individuals. Is there a particular one you hate at this moment who is in office? Your Local President? An ATD rep? Maybe one of the secretaries?

My guess is that it still won't satisfy you even when it happens?

Money right?

I give it a year tops before you'll be screaming for more.

Wow you have it so wrong it's out of even the same ballpark. I don't bemoan or resent you at all. Not even one tiny little bit. If you were making $100.00 per hour for what you do I'd say "good show" congratulations. I don't believe in Class warfare or envy. I'm not jealous of money, cars, jewelry, houses or the prestige you think comes with those things. And I wonder way more why people in my group are unhappy and complain much more than yours.
But see. From everything you write it still comes across to me like the only thing that can make you happy is making more $$MONEY$$
There are a lot of things out there in this world that can make someone happy that have nothing to do with money. But if that's what YOU need I hope you can get the amount one day that get's you there.

So.. your saying I should not be concerned with the fact that Im compensated 20%-30% less then my peers at similar airlines because Im to concerned about money and its not the only thing in the world?

I should "lower my expectations" correct? To late, I have none.

I'm saying that YOU and your attitude about me and what Im worth should not play any role what this pos representative can get for me. But.. unfortunately, you and your ilk will continue to take from me as much work and money as you can get. It has been this way for decades and will continue, I have no illusions.

I like and dislike the calculators because they lump all areas of a city together but they are a reasonable measuring stick.
OT is rampant in DFW. Add about another $15K over base 2080 hours. Don't know what fleet OT is at. While I believe we all need a raise I find it laughable that a lot of people claim they are at fast food wages. When the public hears us say that and then see our income it undermines public support.
Why doesn't the TWU promote what unions do to the traveling public? Our skills. I see IBEW commercials often promoting that they keep the lights on even when snow storms are keeping most people home safe. As airline ground staff we are out there right now battling the elements making sure they are safe and they get where they are going with their stuff. When people like Parker offer substandard wages we attract substandard talent. Union workers have no problem with expecting top tier work for top tier pay.
They don't promote our craft and our professiolism because they believe we are whiners and they dislike our title group, they only like the dues we generate.

This is the perception from the top down.

Who said you should lower your expectations? Absolutely not. If you know what you're worth then you should demand to be compensated by that belief. If someone isn't giving it to you then you should go look for who will give you that. Have you ever looked elsewhere for better compensation in your field? If similar Airlines have greener pastures have you sought to graze there? And I'm not at all saying that with the profits AA is finally making you shouldn't be compensated dramatically higher for all "WE" gave up the last 13 years at least.

BTW what money is my "ilk" taking from you? Uh it's Wall Street, Banks, Low Cost Competitors and Upper Management that's taken things from you. I don't have that kind of access to your accounts.

Curious on the "peers" comment. I'm guessing by peers you only mean BASE wages and Airlines where those BASE wages are higher than yours right? Just need to be clear on that one?

Who are "they"? Names man? Give us some names of those people who think you're whiners and dislike you?

Have you ever actually "talked" to those people? Maybe tried a phone call or something? A trip to the International office or the ATD office? The ATD is right there in DFW is it not?

Go sit down and have a pow wow with them.

Its painfully obvious that you are an Ass mouthpiece on here. I'm sure your still sulking about losing your election and not being able to get deeper in the Ass.

For the rest of us on here if we are locked into a 5 year or longer deal it better be something special that represents the new airline industry economic for years to come!

That is true, you will often see the TWU refer to FAA certified A&P Mechanics as "maintenance workers".  Believe it or not, there is a psychology to that.  It also explains why the TWU, and other "one size fits all" airline unions IAM IBT etc. never got behind pushing for F.A.R. Part 66.  Why the same unions have influenced the NMB to keep our work scope watered down to include any job type they can try to justify to be included in the AMT's representational voting block.  This strategy has helped prevent AMFA from representing AMTs nationwide at most carriers - not unlike the ALPA.

The TWU likes to play favorites as well.  Take a look at the darlings of the TWU in Flight Dispatch & Simulator Techs - both were in Jim Little's former local.  The latest slight by the TWU, giving facilities maintenance mechanics .80 cents per hour base pay more than a FAA licensed A&P Mechanic.  Anything to further diminish the value of our license pay by giving every other title group some sort of skill pay.  This crap has gone on for decades, we point it out - and then here comes the excuse train.  "You voted for it" "you guys are elitists", "a loaf of bread costs this guy as it costs you".  Karl Marx would be proud.

Nope. No official affiliation or guidance whatsoever.

"Better be?" Or?

Not at all. But if I really can't stand my job or the company I work for as bad as some of you guys seem to, I'm flying the coup out.

IMO.....
