There you go again calling people idiots. You know this topic is about twu/iam members. Your neither and yet you butt in and start insulting people.
He did not call them idiots. The guy "ATD" did that. 700UW questioned why the guy did. (See the post below, and above)

Get past your hatred of the guy. While I disagree with him on many things, he actually does know labor law and how the bargaining process works.

Sometimes you can learn from people with whom you do not agree if you can get past your blindness.

Thanks Glenn!

Contrct should be 1/3 the size it is. We have a bunch of nitwitts running the show IAM/TWU. We also have many of our union brothers and sisters that are afraid of loosing their job with AA because they will never be able to find such a good thing even at half the pay.
Do you have Reading Comprehension Problems?

I never called anyone an idiot.

In your over zealousness to hate me, you only make yourself look like a fool.

with your idiotic logic you start with the easiest to show progress. so the hardest issues then do not take as long. it is no wonder why unions  are going away. You start with the hardest while the negotiating team is still fresh and attentive. your negotiating technic is outdated just like the TWU/AIM leaders.

And your knowledge of any negotiation or IBB (Union or not) is equal to your ability to write a proper sentence.

If we settled about the time that PS did we at fleet would be at least $5000  richer than we are going to be.That's if we settle by May. So should we wait for July to see what DL is going to get? And so on and so on.......

The Agents only just got a contract so there's no way it's gotten anywhere near a $5000 loss for us yet if we settled the same day. We make $24.00 per hour. If we had settled a year ago exactly at $26.50 we're looking at about $5000 given up not counting extra hours or 401k contributions. The slow progress or wait has us staring at another almost $3.00 per hour on top of that year ago figure. On a 5 year deal if we had been locked in to $26.50 we would lose about $30,000 in value over the life of the contract, not counting yearly wage increases and the value from extra hours and 401k contributions and match.

Looking at the added 9 weeks of negotiating for Fleet I don't think anyone is waiting for July or to see if DL gets more. Since DL is non union and doesn't have a contract any industry wage adjustment that might be added to our contract will only include UAL since they would have a contract. The FA's only have UAL to look at because they have a union. On BASE wages we can now see that SWA is out of the picture since they won't be going up to $29 until 12 months after DOR if it's voted in.

They'll always be leapfrogging in our industry though and even if we do go to the top, someone will eventually leap ahead of us. I'm not going to worry if the guy down the street has a bigger house than mine as long as I like the one I live in.

DL normally gives their raises in April.
They just got the 14% raise (And the Profit Sharing future cut) on Dec 1. I don't "think" they'll see another increase this April?

I never said i was an english scholar. your comment on interest based bargaining, this co as no interest in that. You on the other hand think just because you write proper sentences makes you a intellectual type. Well take your intellect and put it where you probably shove other guys heat-seeking moisture missiles.

Glad to see you guys are making progress.  Also good to see the update at end of week of nego's.  Do you guys really expect something by summer?

Hard to make a prediction with so many different people involved in those rooms. I do personally find it encouraging that Fleet has scheduled negotiations all the way through the end of March. Maintenance seems to have a few weeks devoted to taking a breather with 5 extra weeks of negotiations devoted so far after the 2 weeks in DC.
