Would you like for them to update you every time they tie their shoes or take a whiz? Or maybe if they had the tasty chicken wings at a local Flannigans?
My "guess" is you won't see the first update until after the first 3 weeks of negotiating is done? That way maybe they'll be some decent progress to report?
i want a update every time the company turns a proposal down I want a update every time they agree on a proposal. I want to know what there doing now not after a Ta comes back . I want to know what proposals are being discussed . they should allow observers. It's our right to know what's happening in negotiations it's our lives there discussing .

I agree.  We have a right to know what is being discussed.

Observers not happening. But the rest sounds good to me.

You do know that it does take a little time to write out all you're asking for and post it. And things do change as talks are ongoing. What's TA'd and what's being worked on sounds very reasonable.

To a point since some talks can be sensitive and if put out on Social Media, riots can ensue if individuals don't agree.

9 more weeks of meetings secured over the next few months, BWI, JFK and DFW...3 articles have been TA including grievance procedures.

where did this information come from?

Inside source says Scope is done. The LUS scope with garenties no layoff's attrition will take care of it.

I doubt that is agreed too, US outsources all the shops, AA doesnt, so I dont believe that for a minute.

No. And you know this. What would be nice is a weekly update since you guys are going full weeks at a time.  I would not expect daily updates, but weekly ones would do wonders to keep the troops calm and some what informed.

I would like an update each time they end sessions for that week. Even if it's just "we are moving in a positive direction".
Not too much to expect.

I wish you guys could observe. It really does make a huge difference and helps stop all the misinformation and rumors from running a muck.
WeAAsles, below I will post an update we got at the end of the 3 days of nego's for us.  Very helpful and informative.  One thing we hate is the fact that our union does allow observers, but the mediators did request no observers in the first 2-3 meetings, but she did say that she will look at letting observers attend at future mediated meetings.

Well this persons seems to be informed, question is where is it coming from.  Here is one of the updates we get at the end of our scheduled mediated meetings, and I do believe each and everyone of these updates have to be approved by the mediators prior to being released to help stop all the propaganda that the co. was putting out in the beginning.  Is this something that would satisfy most as far as an update if you guys were to get something like this from your nego cmte?  If so could you guys make a motion at your general membership meetings to get it done?  As well as a motion for the observers?  Wouldn't hurt to try...

Association Continues American Negotiations This Week

January 15, 2016

Sisters and Brothers,

Your TWU-IAM Association Fleet Service and Mechanic & Related Negotiating Committees met with American Airlines this week in Miami, Florida to continue joint contract negotiations.  Below is each Committee’s update of this week’s discussions.  Each Committee was able to reach preliminary, tentative agreements pertaining some of the articles discussed this week.

Fleet Service Negotiations Update:

Your TWU-IAM Association Fleet Service Negotiating Committee met with American Airlines this week in Miami, Florida to continue joint contract negotiations.  It was a productive week and progress was made.  The Union and the Company discussed the following articles:

Preamble
Purpose of the Agreement
Safety and Health
Grievances
System Board of Adjustment
Fitness for Duty
Probationary Period

We will continue joint contract negotiations in Washington D.C. for the next two weeks, beginning on January 19, 2016.  We have also scheduled a combined nine additional full weeks of joint contract negotiations through March.

Your Committee is determined to secure the industry-leading joint contract that every Fleet Service Employee at American Airlines deserves.  Your support and solidarity gives us the power to achieve our goals.

In Solidarity,

Mechanic and Related/Stores Negotiations Update:

Sisters and Brothers,

The Mechanic & Related and Stores Negotiating Committee met with the Company this week in Miami, Florida and continued joint contract negotiations.  It was a productive week.

During this session your committee discussed the following articles with the company:
Preamble
Purpose of the Agreement
Safety and Health
Fitness for Duty
Grievance Procedure
System Board of Adjustment

The Committee also received a complete proposal from the company on Grievance Procedure and System Board of Adjustment which we are reviewing.

Furthermore, your Committee issued a comprehensive proposal to the Company regarding Fitness for Duty for their review.

We are tentatively scheduled to continue joint contract negotiations in Washington D.C. the weeks of January 18th and January 25th.  In addition, we have secured the following weeks to continue negotiations:  February 8th, February 29th, March 7th, March 21st, and March 28th .

Please keep in mind that combining two labor agreements into one is a complex task and all articles of incorporation are important.  Updates to the membership will continue after each weekly session.

In closing, your continued solidarity and support will be appreciated and necessary as we move forward into the more difficult areas of negotiations of the JCBA.

In Solidarity,

Dale Danker       Mark Huffman    Bennie Martino    Gary Peterson

Larry Pike           Sean Ryan           Jay Sleeman           Mark Strength

Complex task? Am I suppose to feel for them because they made it complex with the scam association? Enjoy the rest of the winter, spring and summer with our current pay and concessions because I feel nothing substantial is going to happen unless they rush into more concessions.
