This Is How We Roll.......

I feel the same way, skygirl. I only have met 2 USAir flight attendants. One is now a trainer at AWA and she is a sweetheart. The other I met on one of my flights, and she was really nice. I am sure that this will all work itself out. Take care!

that trainer wouldn't happen to be julie ryan ,would it.? i miss her.

AFA's Constitution and By-Laws are NOT outdated. We at AWA must adhere to date-of-hire with regard to seniority. It is FAIR. PERIOD. Many flight attendants at AWA fear being bumped out of PHX. There is NOTHING TO FEAR with date-of-hire. Like I said before, on this forum and my own AFA forum, date of hire is the only way to integrate seniority. We at AWA must deal with it, stop fearing it, and do what is right. ALL of us must stop this fighting, finger pointing, and get over it. Most importantly, GET ON WITH IT! B)

I just had a funny thought, what if this whole merger were between AWA and AirTran..Airtran is much younger than AWA..I can see the same arguments happening. Only the AWA side would be the same opinion of US--DOH.

Unfortunately I feel the same way about HP posts and I too hope that they are few and far between. ...

As I said before when speaking of "fencing", it appears that ANIMOSITY will be the fence that will seperate us the longest. :(

Ditto,
Look at the Northwest/Republic merger from 1986. It's 19 years later and they still have it out for each other. We do'nt want that at the new US.

No matter what your opinion might be on all the issues that have come up on this board, can we at least agree not to treat one another like they do at NWA?

True. Just say "NO" to Animosity. :)

Thank you hulagirl :) . Although I'm not sure that I won't be on the outside looking in ...I'm really excited about the ground-breaking nature of this merger. We all have a chance to be a part of something very special and to make airline history together. We have the leadership team to make it happen. Don't worry about the leaders from US Airways that you don't care for. Some US leadership had to be retained to help in the merger transition (especially on the maintenance side) and if they don't "get on board" with Doug don't expect him to keep them around very long. Only one ingredient is missing to make this merger successful and it's called TEAMWORK. Some have never experienced how much more effecient people are working together as opposed to the same people working by themselves. A good example is a personal one. I work in a group of four. The four of us working together as a closely knit team have accomplished more work in 4 years than any of the previous 4 workers in the previous 18 years combined (and we've had fun doing it too). That is staggering, and it's not because the other folks weren't working hard. It's the "synergy" created by combining individual forces into a team. Doug has used this term 'synergy" to describe the benefits of combining the two airlines together in to a team so to speak. Chances of the new US Airways survival will hinge on how well we can put our differences aside and work together as a TEAM. We all have our favorite teams....Steelers, Eagles, Cardinals, Dolphins and the like, but let's not forget the most important team for our own futures sake! GO US Airways! Now Play Ball!

EXACTLY!!!!! And with even more consolidation in the industry, this could ring true. THAT is why date-of-hire is FAIR. I know that it is scarey to many, but it is FAIR for ALL...keep the peace.. B)

Matt
Please forgive some of my fellow coworkers. They don't understand how wonderful it can be to work for this airline and have a CEO whom we cherish. They've been through some very bad times and don't trust anyone. I know--I was one of them too at one time.
At first I thought you were talking about reservations. It's always suprising to me these days, when a pax calls and says, "well, it's nice to hear a friendly voice who sounds like she likes her job." Well, I do. Remember the movie Fish from your training??? I have seen it again this week. Maybe we can send it to U folks. They will be suprised that corporate actually has all of us watch it.
Guys give this merge a chance. It will work only with great employees who like to work with each other and the public. Throw away the garbage you've been dealing with for the past years, don't let your attitude get in your way of having fun while working.
We are glad to have you and soon you will be extremely happy you're here.

Hey I hear US Airways is going to put together a team for our "Jet Pull" event. Hope I get to meet some of you!

I am not hung up on the seniority thing. I am letting you know about our culture of service. Obviously you missed the meaning of the letter. You should skip down to the part about leaving.

Sky high states: "Culture of service"? Would that be before or after AmWest BANKRUPTCY?.......OR THE FEDERAL LOAN? You're airline is cash poor. It needs U as much as U needs you. Clear?
Meaning of the letter?...... You think you're a better airline. LOL, and that's objective. Have YOU sat in Envoy Class to Europe, MATT?...HUH? The Caribean?

This is how we roll?.............wanna bet!

Not to change the subject, but how is the service in Envoy class? I've only heard fabulous things like "white glove" service. I'm sure it's going to change now that it's going to be a low fare carrier. Do you still serve dishes in china?

Just wondering. :)

Correct, they shouldn't talk about their customer service until they have sat in a first class bed to sleep across the Atlantic or sat in Envoy with a 3/4 bed. If they want to scrimp on service transatlantic that is fine- people will go elsewhwere.. there are many options... That is one of the only moneymakers is international. Personally I know we dont have enough planes to do more international, but that would be a smart move to get more international destinations, just my thought though, USAIRWAYS will have to compete with the new low cost carrier MAXJET who will have service out of JFK, and DULLES - They will be the new international only carrier for a low fare.... Seems this is this trend ---
