This Is How We Roll.......

... I hope that you US Airways folk will see that we are trying to be welcoming to you and that we would like to feel welcomed by you. There are some of you that have said some very harsh statements that are very unwelcoming. Hope they are few and far between.

Unfortunately I feel the same way about HP posts and I too hope that they are few and far between.

My family lives in PHX and my mother was thrilled about the merger thinking that I would be able to quickly transfer into the base. I informed her that regardless of my seniority, I can only transfer into PHX when there is an opening which could take years, but more importantly I told her that from what I have heard, it will be a loooooong time before I will feel welcomed in PHX.

As I said before when speaking of "fencing", it appears that ANIMOSITY will be the fence that will seperate us the longest. :(

Ohhhh, someone found their keyboards and man is the fire going to spread!!

MG and Devildog are some of the best F/A's at HP!!

Can't we all just get along for the sake of the merger!!!

Matt, I've already said it before, on our SITE, I'm ready to play ball!!

What a trip, I think you are wrong. Most America West employees are welcoming the chance to enter into a new work environment. ANIMOSITY seems to be very prevalent in your airline employees' postings and also your MEC president's newsletters to the membership. We have heard from some of your coworkers that they are just going to come in here and take our jobs. Oh yes, they said that..we ride the same buses to the airport as do your co-workers in some of our field stations. They are already looking to buy homes here. How do you think that makes us feel? I would not presume to come to Charlotte and say I am going to take a slot there. I would love to move back to the Carolinas because that is where I was reared. Just like you have family here in Phoenix, I have family there. I hope you eventually do make it here if you would like to. However, the flight attendants based here and in Vegas will be looking to protect their jobs. Hopefully, it can be done without the bickering and animosity of which you speak. WE here are at a great disadvantage due to youth of our company, small number of flight attendants, and the politics at both your company and mine, and the politics on the National Level at AFA. Pat Friend is no friend to us, she only cares about union dues. You have the larger membership, so if this DOH issue goes to the BOD, I am sure who will win that. When it comes to electing a new MEC, I am sure that the old US AIRWAYS union membership will be sure to elect a majority of officers that are favorable to you. I am sorry, but we as a workforce are going to get screwed by this merger and we are certainly aware of it. You can say it's fair, just buck up and accept it, blah blah blah. As I said before, the OLD way of doing things is not necessarily the BEST way of doing things. We would never have had fire or the wheel if there was not someone willing to do something NEW! Anyway, welcome to Phoenix, where you will rarely need a sweater!

what_a_trip,
I would be happy to show you the ropes here in PHX. There are some inflight mgmt. types to watch for, as well as our CSI from the FAA. Whoever is able to come here, welcome! Hopefully this "Hatfields vs. McCoy's" will end soon.
Peace. B)

I for one am looking forward to some changes for the better. I will look forward to meeting and getting to know some new friends at AWA. See you on the line.

what a trip, I would personally welcome you to Phoenix the first trip you come here if I knew you were coming. Some folks don't realize what we are on the verge of accomplishing. This merger is going to be a huge deal. Not too long in the future we will be making history together. There are a few sour folks (like in any large company), but the vast majority of AWA will welcome US Airway folks with open arms. Doug has turned AWA around and he will turn the new US Airways in to "The Premier LCC" and the first LCC that provides global service. We will have a feather in our cap that no other airline can claim. We just need to execute Doug's plan. Truly Exciting Stuff!

I don't like ANIMOSITY either, but I think what makes some of the Junior F/As at AWA pissed off is when some of the some of the senior US F/As rub their seniority at our faces when they are in phoenix or when they are in the same layover city as the HP crews. We keep hearing arrogant attitudes instead of being humble and nice about it. We already know that we are going to get bumped in seniority, why rub it in our faces and make us feel small? It's totally not cool. I know majority are not like that, but when the bad apples boast their seniority and threaten to bump us out of our base then the claws starts to come out. I've had good experiences with some of the US crews that I have encountered , so I am looking forward to working with them as long as they are easy to work with.

As stated earlier, it is dissapointing to see an HP employee talk in this fashion...I am stunned at such a statement, even if fragments of it are true.

I remember that USAirways lost my corporation's business when "The Great Baggage Loss of '98" occurred - 240 of us were flying different flights on a business trip with them, when half of the luggage was not flown to the final destination. Ever since have I been wholly committed to HP.

Your boss just might change, Matt, I'd be careful with what you say...

As to USAirways, while I am sorry to watch the fading of America West, I am excited to see what this "new" airline will bring us.

I feel the same way, skygirl. I only have met 2 USAir flight attendants. One is now a trainer at AWA and she is a sweetheart. The other I met on one of my flights, and she was really nice. I am sure that this will all work itself out. Take care!

To all HP and US employees,

You guys really need to be careful what you post in here. Management, Investors and Customers read this board. It's totally embarrassing and totally unprofessional. Please stop the mudslinging, t doesn't do us any good. It only creates more animosity and more negativity. What is happening is totally out of control. Instead of wasting your energy on anger, focus your energy on proactive solutions that can help our airline survive and become successful. Thank you.

HP F/A soon to be a US F/A and looking forward to working with some great employees @ US.

Great post optimist - I bet when management sees Matthews name on here he won't be the "best" flight attendant anymore!!

That junior "phoenix boy" is one of the greatest flight attendants ever to come online.

The only reason he posted that letter was because of reading the wrotten attitudes that are seeping cancerous ooze from your fingers when you type.

It's obvious you don't care about the impression you make on anyone. Otherwise we wouldn't have our cutomers all worried we will turn out as bitter old hags when we merge.

But don't worry. Your tired old attitude will be wiped away, because we know how to remain positive in the face of adversity.

Do you think you are the only flight attendants that had to take a pay cut?
Do you think you are the only ones who had to survive a bankruptcy?
Do you think only your management team was a bunch of incompetent morons?

Well guess again!!
We, in our short 23 year existance have been through it all too.

The only difference...We keep on making our customers come back because we LOVE our jobs and know how to make them feel welcome!

We only ask that you do the same. And if that is too much to ask, then go destroy your local McDonald's with your wrotten attitudes.

But don't ruin the best thing to happen to your precious US Airways.
America West is going to be like a shot of adrenaline so strong it will change the east coast severely.
And if you aren't ready to handle an attitude change...HIT THE ROAD.

But if you ARE willing to drop that "I'm better than you because I'm old as dirt" attitude. Then GET ONBOARD!
You will find we are a family that has its tiffs like any other. But we know how to make this family work.

Wow! Another lecture from another Phoenix "boy". Are you president of Matty's fan club or do you two have something else going on?? I am very suprised at the venom being spewed by two people who are supposed to be the best that Hp has to offer. Go back and read both of your posts and see the insulting tone and just pure horse crap that both of you wrote. My 12 year old daughter could have handled that better. Please remember that posts like that do nothing but enrage a group of employees that will out number you 2 to 1 when this is all over. Eventually the DATE OF HIRE idea will grow on you. It won't be so bad man......relax!
