gee
A guy can't even go out and spend a day at the ball field without being crucified and misconstruded sp.

GF I think you might have had to many screwdrivers a little early my friend. :D . IF you read the whole post. I was actually complimenting

you guys in the small cities because you have more job responsibilities than say a hub that is departmentalized . Do I care that

you guys have to put garment boxes together NO. Do i care that you have to load the bags in the bagroom and then run them

out to the a/c and help load. NO. Do I care that you have 3 a/c on ground and have to go from plane to plane . NO.

just as I would imagine most guys in the out staions don't care about the intricaceys of hublife. Do you guys work hard. DAM RIGHT

you do . and I appreciate that. the point of my post was WE IN THE HUBS DID NOT and I will repeat it DID NOT . NEG THAT BK

CONTRACT . Did RANDY DANGLE A CARROT IN THE HUBS AND CLASS I FACE> YES> So your argument should be directed at him

and his 100,000.00 boys.. I will say that clt turnout for that BK contract was only about 40 percent . so YES the hubs did carry

alot of the vote. but it took some help from other citys to. As for me I VOTED NO > and have voted NO since we got this union

on property. Now as far as spreading gossip and using scare tactics. YOU got the wrong dude. I keep it real and honest.

I call it as I see. and most people respect me for that . I never say something about someone that I wouldn't say to there face.

and the people that know me know that.

sorry for the long post. \

Oman,

Did you need OXYGEN after that post. GEEEEESSSSSSHHHHHHH, you get longwinded at times. Give me a few good cleansing breaths, and a coulpe of GOOOOZZZZZ FRABBA'S and you'll be ok, ok.

''gf'', though you may feel a East exodus is a please!!!! issue what would you have us
do if our jobs are threatened and we look to retain employment.

Perv,
Am I missing something here in this new T/A or is your issue that UA is going to diplace our 20+ year employees at PHL. I truly don't think anyone at UAL is knocking down the door to get into philly...no offense of course.

O-man:

I believe you 100%.

Prez,
? for ya. I am not familiar with the TWU contract . How does your FMLA work.

something to think about.

ours works like this if FMLA is used for the employee they get paid they same as the sick time.

if the FMLA is used as a caregiver (someone other than you) You have to use your VAC time first then go unpaid.

I know this may or may not affect alot of people but If you are currently using FMLA to care for someone . You won't be

getting paid after they take all your vac.

like I said I don't know if the west FMLA is set the same or not.

From the New York Times:

With the United-Continental deal scrapped, a new set of pairings is likely to take place. UAL is expected to push to reach a deal with US Airways, with which it had also been discussing a merger, people involved in the talks said. UAL could not be reached for comment.

There is no question that 100% is the way to go for a catastrophic illness. My point is that the copays and a lot of other stuff is the same whether you have 80, 90, or 100.
GF
I have to say that the 100% is the way to go if you want whats best for your family. Open enrollment is once a year. Taking anything less is a gamble I choose not to take. If you want what is the best it will cost you over $300 a month.

Joe you mean AA is wasting their time moving all those carts in here?

For those of you wondering about the medical fees. I am in the top family plan - 100/80. These are the amounts that I pay every paycheck.

Medical - $145.85
Dental - $5.26
Union Dues - $22.03

For parttimers it's double if not more.
They are all going to go up the first of the year, if not sooner. I hope this clears things up for you.

Just curious...

Was a reduction in medical premiums ever on the table? If it was, was there a "give to get," and what was it?

Thanks.

I don't think so Kev. I have heard they will be going up after the first of the year. Not sure though. Can anybody verify if this is true.

Not sure JD if will be going up at end of year or not. Correct me if I am wrong, but I beleive our insurance premiums are based on a percentage of the group policy. I beleive it is 14% of the cost that we have to pay as a premium for coverage. If I read the contract right, it goes up when the premiums US has to pay increase, but not to exceed the 14%? In regards to some posts on here about the contract's salary increase being nullified by the cost of the insurance for the west guys is totally inaccurate and I beleive a previous post has pointed that out.

Regards

Something else that you all might think about, IMHO if there is a merger I think there will be a buyout offered for the top senior guys. While this cost in the short term it will benifit the company in the long term, as it will be longer for all to become topped out. So you junior guys you may be a lot more vaulable than you thought. Just something to think about.

where oh where do you come up with this stuff.. 1. the last buyout we had was a JOKE  2. WHY offer buyouts when you can

just LAYOFF and CLOSE the field stations. this company doesn't want to even neg with us. much less say here boys we need attrition

so here's a sweet little going away present. Sometimes you just make my head spin.

THAT IS WHY THEY WANT TO FARM OUT AS MANY STATIONS AS THEY CAN ... THAT IS WHY THIS T/A IS A MUST FOR THE COMPANY

HELLO >> HELLO

orioleman,

Section 17 A. a. Sick time may be taken for the care of an ill or injured immediate family member.

The problem with this provision is that most people in the west only have maybe 8 days in their sick bank. Yes, they would lose the ability to get paid for an immediate family member under this TA. Also, yes we can elect to use vacation if we want.

Yes, I've seen Archie Bunker and I kind of thought that was what a row home was.

Respectfully,

where oh where do you come up with this stuff..

O-man....c'mon now and give my friend Fuzz a break...

Didn't Delta just come up with a buyout plan. Not an unreasonable idea. Do I think US will, no probably not. However, it is something that I'm sure they entertained. Why pay an old guy like me top out east pay when they can hire a gangbanger for 9 bucks an hour....there is some validity to this argument, however unlikely in my opinion.
