Your professional answer doesn't fool me for a second Nelson, but it is highly appropriate in this public forum! :)
I will enjoy seeing Canale hand over the 'green jacket' to a real Labor man but professional I'm not, it's just me, a ramp rat. I said what I mean and as far as I'm concerned our focus is looking straight ahead so after Canale hands over the jacket, he will mean nothing to me and I wish him the best.
I don't know if I'm paranoid or what but I see another storm brewing between corporate greed and worker justice. That October night we celebrate for sure, then the masses need to put its armor back on and hold its position.

One thing is clear, the masses are done with subsidizing executive compensation packages, bad management, and IMO, the ATA's scheme of trying to make this industry a 'migrant worker' industry. The mandate to the New Direction team from the masses is clear. No more concessionary contracts.

What we will have in October is a District Chairman who hears the masses and will refuse to subsidize $130 million executive compensation plans with the sweat of the masses. We will have someone who is not impressed with a seat at the board of directors where he can go to 'wine and cheese' gatherings and get his limo rides.

hey Chill out, C'mon down and join us for that October night! I even think a good mess of folks from CLT should think about heading on down for the celebration. Christmas in October!

Regarding this apples (US) Oranges (WN) argument. What does it matter who works harder? A plane is a plane, is a plane.

Mr. Knees,

Rather elementary actually. Increase productivity leads to higher wages. Actually, it is a common economic concept by which in aggregrate real wages can only increase through increased productivity (thus increased profit). Since you mentioned LAS, I know some of the SWA boys at LAS and they do between 5 and 7 flights in eight hours with all the planes turning 30 minutes or less. Whereas the US guys are doing between 3 and 4 flights in those same eight hours at LAS with turns of no less than 40 minutes.

You are right insofar it is an apples and orange comparison in terms of wages because the SWA guys are doing far more work and increased productivity. Not to say that the US guys are lazy, but rather it is a function of the flight and work schedule, as well, which is a management issue.

I'll say it again, "When I work as many flights as SWA, then I'll complain about not being paid enough."

So Regurgitates Jester.

I personally know MR and think very highly of the type of person she is. I don't know if you have specific information to make you say that she screwed MCI and the membership. I think more likely she was overwhelmed with Canale and all of the manipulating he did. RR and LAS were the only west people on the committee with her and they followed Canale which probably left her in a situation of going against everyone or staying and trying to help the membership the best she could. Have you met her? The statement is uncalled for, what's done is done.
P. Rez

P.Rez,
The statement is called for if true and the follow up post seems to present a different side then
you recall. Like you I know many people who sit on the upper side of the IAM, in particular PF and
BC, both AGC's and I would be happy to sit down and talk to them and have a drink or meal with
but they have changed. The almighty $$$ sign swings many a people and when you start providing
for your family above that which is not on par with the group your goals change. Your family is still
#1 but at a price. MR may indeed be a good person that does not make a good leader. Most of the
people on the Canale ticket are ''punch drunk'' and can't understand what happened. I'm sure
they understand WHY but can't seem to see HOW they let it slip away.

NevadaHP,

I believe Mary to be a nice person but not a vocal and standup person.

That was my point, she is a nice person. I can understand that maybe she doesn't have some quality about her that you think makes her strong but regardless she wants to help people and isn't out to f**k them.

The statement you are referring to from NevadaHP agreed that she was still nice but wasn't a standup vocal person. Not being tough like Tim Nelson or NevadaHP feel is fine but to attack her for not having that quality was uncalled for.

If the "Oust the clown throw down" was as good as you boasted, the "River City Overthrow down" will be historic. I would love to be there as a delegate from my Local but every one in CLT was nominated and there might be a brawl to decide the winners. Rook is our ND08 contact in JAX so he might help in arrangements for the historic celebration. EB is also a good go-to person from JAX and can be contacted through Goodfellow.

Question for Mr. Nelson: Can a member attend the 141 Convention in a non-delegate capacity on their own dime? There is a line forming to attend and many would like to know.

yeah, yeah I'd like that and could we get up and chant like they do at those political conventions?? I can hear it now Oust the clown ! Oust the clown!

Heck, I wasn't invited to the contract BS session meetings but attended. The real meeting was outside the door. In JAX, it's not like everyone has to be in the room. It's the celebration afterwards where all can attend on their own dime. Rent a car, get a room, join in and party that night! Oman better be there!

Are you Sh*tting me . It might be better than my honeymoon. (well maybe not) but I will be there with bells on..

and the Bourbon WILL be flowing. since you have experience now in how to handle the good stuff. I might have to spring for a

half gallon for the after party.. Randy LIED to my face once and it will be an honor to see him slither away..

sidenote:
maybe premature but I doubt it. CONGRATS to Mike C and Nick H. out of clt on there victory . Two men that define unionism
and finally CLT the 2nd largest local has a voice at the district level.

Hey tim,
any idea when this election becomes official ......... it seems with the disparity in numbers that it really would not

behoove randy to contest anything since he will still fall way short on the numbers. been asked this at work " when does this election

become official"

Wow Jester,
You use that keyboard like sabre. Carving us up like ZORRO with those fancy words and all. But seriously, I like what you have to say sometimes and I can respect your opinion. We all have our own and I won't bash anybody for expressing themselves. Good luck out there, wherever you are.
P.S. WN sux.... in my opinion :p

You're going to need more bourbon.

As far as slithering, Randaroo has already slithered away. He will not be at the district convention! He is out of touch with reality, and his ego is bigger than life. Damn I hope I am wrong but If I were a betting man, he is a no show! His wounds are too big to lick and the excuse by the district master of ceramony will be to sugar coat all the reasons why he is not there. Any way, congrats to all ND08 and the support staff, but biggest congrats to the membership from UA and US and all others for giving the reigns of leadership to a new group!
