Bagfather,You know I really have no clue as to what whoever DF
Could even be one of us trying to stir the pot. At any rate
that screen name is probably ready for retirement.
So here's my latest ultimatum to the company Negotiators
(As if I had the slightest influence). FS will not come to the
table and discuss anything until both PHX and LAS get an immediate
across the board $2.00 hr pay raise.
There isn't a person on earth who wouldn't think that's fair.
However there's just one little detail which might make the
company flinch a little. Then they would lose the ability
to leverage a work force gutted of any dignity by a pathetic
wage scale enabled by MR Steven R. Canale and his band
of thieves. Thanks BF
I disagree that anyone should get a thing until all get a fair contract. PHX and LAS are making about the same as the majority of East stations, all are poor, not just PHX and LAS. They are also enjoying up to 22 more benefits that most of the east stations. I think it's better to sympathize with the whole as opposed to feeling sorry for one or two stations. At any rate, those who suffered the most are those who lost their jobs through sacrifice in bankruptcy.
Here's the deal.
If it's doable, then there is a fair and professional way to get a fair contract done. If achieving a fair deal isn't doable then so be it, we can stop wasting time. But make no mistake, it's the company that is compelled to get a new deal.
I've seen the proposals from the union and I've seen the proposals from Hemenway. So far I haven't seen any proposal from the union or company that indicates either one is listening to the other.
FWIW: the union's proposal was a mess and all over the place. It was the result of a political scramble by Randy and if it were a High School classroom, the teacher would have sent it back to him to clean up. Just ill prepared.
At any rate, the company has some sacreds that it will want in a contract, and so will fleet. Reasonable people should be able to work it out without stepping on the other's sacreds. To be sure, because of the solidarity of fleet service, we must not be denied our sacreds and a new contract [if any] would have to be superior than the one in September.
Company's sacreds are COC, Profit sharing, 2 year extension. Due to the upcoming merger activity, I don't see them signing any transition without them.
Fleet service sacreds: $20hr [including proportionate increases for all steps], enhancements of sick,ot,vacation, holidays, 60 day elimination, protections for all current stations. Although the company went cheap on us with the wage that was offered in September, it did recognize the need to clean up our other sacreds, just not enough when considering what the company wanted in return.
All the above will have to be on the field in play for a fair deal to be achieved. If it's not possible then it's not possible.
