You know I really have no clue as to what whoever DF
Could even be one of us trying to stir the pot. At any rate
that screen name is probably ready for retirement.

So here's my latest ultimatum to the company Negotiators
(As if I had the slightest influence). FS will not come to the
table and discuss anything until both PHX and LAS get an immediate
across the board $2.00 hr pay raise.

There isn't a person on earth who wouldn't think that's fair.
However there's just one little detail which might make the
company flinch a little. Then they would lose the ability
to leverage a work force gutted of any dignity by a pathetic
wage scale enabled by MR Steven R. Canale and his band
of thieves. Thanks BF
Bagfather,
I disagree that anyone should get a thing until all get a fair contract. PHX and LAS are making about the same as the majority of East stations, all are poor, not just PHX and LAS. They are also enjoying up to 22 more benefits that most of the east stations. I think it's better to sympathize with the whole as opposed to feeling sorry for one or two stations. At any rate, those who suffered the most are those who lost their jobs through sacrifice in bankruptcy.

Here's the deal.

If it's doable, then there is a fair and professional way to get a fair contract done. If achieving a fair deal isn't doable then so be it, we can stop wasting time. But make no mistake, it's the company that is compelled to get a new deal.

I've seen the proposals from the union and I've seen the proposals from Hemenway. So far I haven't seen any proposal from the union or company that indicates either one is listening to the other.
FWIW: the union's proposal was a mess and all over the place. It was the result of a political scramble by Randy and if it were a High School classroom, the teacher would have sent it back to him to clean up. Just ill prepared.

At any rate, the company has some sacreds that it will want in a contract, and so will fleet. Reasonable people should be able to work it out without stepping on the other's sacreds. To be sure, because of the solidarity of fleet service, we must not be denied our sacreds and a new contract [if any] would have to be superior than the one in September.

Company's sacreds are COC, Profit sharing, 2 year extension. Due to the upcoming merger activity, I don't see them signing any transition without them.

Fleet service sacreds: $20hr [including proportionate increases for all steps], enhancements of sick,ot,vacation, holidays, 60 day elimination, protections for all current stations. Although the company went cheap on us with the wage that was offered in September, it did recognize the need to clean up our other sacreds, just not enough when considering what the company wanted in return.

All the above will have to be on the field in play for a fair deal to be achieved. If it's not possible then it's not possible.

You hear that guys , we’re making about the same as the east stations so everyone stop bitching ! (looks in wallet , it’s empty )

I hate to say this , but our hand grows weaker by the day , we need to sign something quickly that protects our field stations , raises up the west pay and gives something to the east coast workers . Brothers I doubt we will make major gains with this contract .

I assume that most of you are aware of the current economic climate within the united states ,some economists are forecasting an economic downturn that could last for the next 2 years and resemble something from the time of the 70’s

Time is working against us , our AGC's need to start thinking outside of the box

Take it east Freedom. It's better that the mechanics ratify their agreement first, considering the solidarity of the fleet workers. hey, nobody said stop bit##ing, everyone, not just PHX has much to complain about. We will make major gains in this contract because we have to. And the company recognizes this as indicated with the increases for the mechanics.

Lets talk the bottom line:

Higher oil prices=Consolidation!

Consolidation=
1. No Profit sharing
2. No 401k match
3. No change of control
4. Sick days to match most airlines
5. Outsourcing language ( not in order of company preference )

Think about it.......#3/5 are the most important to the company in times of consolidation. Are you willing to give either of those two up ?( you shouldn't be )

I think the MTC T/A is set up for the vote to lean the east way because they get the most in return. The west is outnumbered.

As for us? We shall see after the MTC results.

You had a livable offer and blindly voted it down, now you want the AGC's who you are about to boot out to save your arse. Give me a break.

The M&R offer will pass by over 70%, good luck guys.

I hope your pied pipers leads you boys to the end of the rainbow.

It will be better for fleet and the company once the M & R ratify a fair contract. Nuff said.

do you want to explain what was livable about it??
crawl back in your cave with DF and shocker

The individuals that we elect and unelect are bound to carry out their duty until they leave office , lame ducks or not . If anything , the people in office now should be more motivated than ever to bring something that can pass back to the table , a contract ratification just might be enough for them to keep their jobs .

As for that livable contract you speak of , many people were blinded with thoughts of the COC being won and huge back pay checks being awarded , in typical human nature the majority of the people did what they felt would be in their best interest .

Like anything else in life , expectations must change with the times .

GO UNION!

So if the same offer was given, would you guys vote it in?

The same offer wouldn't even make it out of the negotiations room. We voted it out with a mandate and we are even more solid now as the east and west are much more solid. The last offer was just awful. It will be better for fleet once the M & R ratify a contract they can live with.

DL 141 Nomination Update: PIT

Today, the New Direction Team cleaned up some housekeeping matters in the runoff election at PIT. 3 positions tied last month so there was a vote today to decide who got the nomination.
New Direction swept them all. Thanks to PIT for nominating the entire New Directions team.

Also, those interested in supporting the New Directions team in your station to get out the vote in June, email me here and we will provide the information your station needs to stay informed.

Just so you get the correct facts here, the east class 1 cities make about 2.00 per hour more than the west guys as well as the east class 2.
I will again say that some of those small field stations may have to be gone in order to get a deal.
You say it yourself with this current economy the company cannot afford to keep fleet in stations with 6 or less flights per day on the fleet payroll. There will need to be give and take on this.

The same offer wouldn't even make it out of the negotiations room. We voted it out with a mandate and we are even more solid now as the east and west are much more solid. The last offer was just awful. It will be better for fleet once the M & R ratify a contract they can live with.

Well I dont agree with that assement because the company did come back with that offer in Jan. with some pretty big changes. However if we had guys who could negociate they would have stuck to it in Jan. to try and work out some of those differences, but unfortunally to many want us to gain everything in the T/A. Well we can keep hoping for that till the cows come home but its not going to happen, so I will say again if thats what you guys are willing to do, than get ready for late 2009 to walk.
I just dont think thats what we want we need some real wage increases now and try and gain a few contract changes than in a few years we can come back and hammer out a good contract for all.
