Afa Wins!

Oh my...what a huge mess.
The mess was brought on by people who believe that contracts don't mean anything if it doesn't suit their plans. What's incredible is Dave has no problem coming out publicly crying all the woes this will cause U was because AFA wanted them held accountable. What’s even more incredible than that, which is hard to top, is you still have people on these boards singing this management team’s praises!

That's great! Congratulations!

Now if only the AFA realized that United flight attendants are part of AFA and actually did ONE SINGLE action to help us, life would be grand.
That is because we have what you don't......TEDDY XIDAS!!!!!!

Why to go AFA US Airways!!!!

I was wrong!!!! I admitt it!!!!! I didn't think they could pull it off!!!!

Wow! Good for AFA! I hope both the company and the union sit down and come up with some viable options for those flight attendants affected by this ruling.

1. Offer VSIP.

2. Offer VF8 for 6,12,18,24,30,36 month durations to active flight attendants.
(We should try to integrate the return of those on VF's in the future as best we can)

3. Allow those who were affected, who still wish to work at MAA-do so.
(Considering these people have broken current rental lease agreements)

4. What am I missing?

Crazy8:

Good thinking and I am doing the same. Lets think of some ways to cushion or help their transition. Maybe we can come up with ideas for AFA to present to management. Good start.

Congrats AFA,job well done!!! Does anyone know when the MAA interest forms will reach those of us that were furloughed in the 1st round on 11-1-01?????? This is going to be interesting. PitBull, thanks for your hard work and devotion to the F/A group!
Light Years, maybe they will put us in the Residence Inn for MAA training with the free keg from 5-7pm!!!

Management LOSES to the PBGC
Management LOSES to the IAM
Management LOSES to the AFA
Management will soon LOSE to numerous ALPA suits

HELLO BOARD OF DIRECTORS...This management team are LOSERS...not managers, or leaders,or innovators,...but lawyers who cannot read or follow a contract. Proven by more and more employee victories.!!!

BMI-

I know all about the free keg at the Residence... I also loved the "appetizers" that were really dinner! Chances are we'll be at the Motel 6 for this one, LOL.... Doesnt look like MAA is stirring up must interest (shock)- not many will move back to the PIT for that.... so those of us who are interested shouldnt have too long of a wait.

Please, management, drop all of this now and lets work together to bring back the great employees of this airline and breathe some life into it. You tried, you lost, now work with us.

This is a great victory for us. USA333 and Acrazy8 are right in that some attention needs to be given to this group of FAs, particularly the ones that were to be involled.

I can tell you as FACT that they only got a handful of bids for the entire round 1 bidding for MDA. Maybe 1/3 of what they needed. I am going to raise holy heck with AFA and as part of the "relief" options are to let the 500ish who had the option to bid MDA ....go ahead to MDA or stay out on furlough. Everyone is freaking out and the phone is ringing off the hook here! I am sick of my life and everyone around my seniority's life being screwed with. I applaud AFA for this win but the last laugh I fear will be on us. We need AFA now to fight for some "options" and give us something to choose.
USAirA330,

AFA is working on this, rest assured.

If the above two paragraphs make me a management shill then indeed I am one.
Nay Bob...the Mods picked that little swat off without so much as a PM from them. I read their message between the lines, which was, be nice.......so what "shill" Bob? I don't see a shill.

I agree on your post here. But I don't give Jerry all the credit for being a less than sincere character, it's shared throughout the team.

If those 2 things happen it is Labor's duty to accept the apology and take the steps required to move this airline past these difficult times, and prove SWA and Wall Street wrong. I still think work rules and some tweaks to business process will leave employment levels mostly intact, preserve wages, But with ALL of the brain power of Labor coupled with Management working together to drive the cost out of the business then great and wonderful things can happen. If management can identify 300 million in savings I bet the unions can too. Then all you have to do is compare notes and maybe you get lucky and save 500 million while promoting cooperation and building a "Can Do" spirit in the face of relentless competition.

If the above two paragraphs make me a management shill then indeed I am one.
And let's all go to Disney World.......la, la la, la, la.

There will be no apology for any egregiious acts from this management, and Jerry will NOT be asked to leave. And do not assume in your Disney World that Labor will go to the table, BECAUSE WE NOW HAD A JUSTIFIABLE WIN.

AFA and managment have much to work out now because of the tight "time lines" with MDA training, VFs. VISP offers, furlough rescinding, and those f/as that are still out their furloughed who just moved home and gave up their "commuter crash" pads that cost them plenty!

Much to work out. We sitll have many outrageous grievances outstanding along with the freggin new policies that just came out that "destroy" the financial, and emotional well being of our people

No. There is no coming to the table to invite this management to "help themselves".

Bob,

Jerry is indeed "A one legged man in a butt kicking contest" as it seems...and at a hefty salary and legal outlay behind his mis-firings.

Jerry Glass's resignaton should be phase one on the road to repair....but just saying I'm sorry or I was wrong on Dave and Dave's behalf is not going to be good enough to satisfy the oppressed here.

Dropping the IAM debacle....a retraction of all the asset sale and liquidation talk with the same fan-fare in which it was distributed would be yet another positive step....yet I still fear that more blood needs to be shed in the CCY circles to make things right.

Neil Cohen , BBB and a few others have been implicated as conspirators and advisors in all these costly and gastly failures....So their ouster is in as much order as anyones.

Siegel's one chance at redemption will come with a clean backfield...and a 180 degree change in his actions....and that may be a stretch , but it's a start in the right direction.

We can expend our money in court , with negative yields..or we can put it into day to day operations of an airline. The call is Seigels to make....the yield will have to be better than their track record in the legal circles

TtHANKS!!! thanks to my Union Rep Ms. Teddie for her dedication and belief and hard work and perseverance. I have been very emotional of late and very uncertain. I think I may just sleep a little calmer tonight.

AOG,

You are exactly correct again.

Light Years,

You gave me a good laugh with your "avatar". Thanks.

These guy's egos are too large for them to admit defeat. I would expect them to do the exact WRONG thing, and come up with a VF that has rules too onerous to get anyone to take it. I also expect "the man behind the curtain" (Bronner) to make MORE threats in the media, even though every time he does he sticks his foot into his or the other Dave's mouth. Yes, the excrement is about to hit the oscillating ventilator!
