Lots of unknowns right now and I would just not even speculate on what does or doesn’t happen.
I doubt even the union leaders know for sure.
By next Friday I expect we may have a better idea.
One thing I do expect that all new pay rates will be frozen till August.

I agree. My fear is there will be some shenanigans to get out of paying it to those laid off before payout. Since the bonus has already been agreed to wait until 60 days before distribution.

The membership knows this. We were beaten down mentally to accept anything. That time has come. Not good but reality has arrived and settled into all association members.

Will AA have more than double the WN mechanics when all said and done considering we are roughly double your size? Enough said. You might want to look at total mx spend and billable hours too. For those that deny facts, it is a richer contract based on numbers which makes it a ilc. More employees, less outsourcing than others and a goal for others to achieve added employees is industry leading.

Really! Maybe I can clear this up more. Other airline Unions will try to get the scope we got. If you were honest with yourself you would admit this is a good thing but you have an agenda. As for selling to the members, don’t need to, they like it.

In my opinion, we all vote this contract in on the 26th. The company is then crucified for giving the mechanics (fleet service is rarely included in a news article) a huge pay raise with bonus while expecting a government bailout. The company then cuts deep in order to try and show they are doing the right thing, as well as take the focus away from the billions squandered on stock buy backs. My question is what happens to the bonus? Is that something that goes bye bye due to force majeure? If they do pay the bonus, are the people that are here for the signing (it is a signing bonus), but laid off shortly after still eligible?

the media doesn't apply the correct terminology. bailouts as opposed to loans.

everyone is angry at the banks for the 2008 bailout. i get it. the airlines did not get bailed out in 2008-2009. the banks and 2 out of the 3 automakers did.

the airlines, like other major corporations, used trump's 2017 corporate tax cut to enrich the shareholder, besides a $1k check for it's employees.

media piling on here. commercial airlines employ some 750,000 employees??

in general, the commercial airlines want $50 billion. out of the $50 billion, i don't know how much free money the airlines are asking for. if individual tax-payers are getting a payroll tax cut, then, why shouldn't the airlines get some partial 'free' money?

Doesn't change the fact that you guys gave up scope. period. You guys agreed to outsource more in house work, period. You guys gave up over 30% more outsourcing, WHY? And if ya still want to compare these two contracts we didn't give up any additions in scope, scope remained untouched.
AGAIN, will you still claim your newly agreed to contract is ILC? And will you sell it as such to the members?? Your overwhelming avoidance to these questions speak volumes...

Don't get me wrong P.Rez, that offer is decent and more than likely will fly thru with all the fiascos currently going on in the industry.
But it's not, and even far from IL in almost all areas. (mech and related)
I do agree that most will be ok with it because of the current issues on hand. However, I also think you will see a fast paced card drive finalizing this asso's exit from representing the mechanics and related. At that will tell ya what they really think about how well you guys did representing them in this combined asso.

We didn't give anything up. The association did it all in our best interest. So that's how the cookie crumbles.
