That's not what we've been told. You said if you went in that you would be in 142. Uh uh, I don't think so. You would be in 141.

And the new UAL deal is around an $80 per month multiplier starting next year and moving up. Does that suc too?Kev3188 said:Yep, the arrogant "we got this" mindset has taken down more than one campaign...FWIW, we've been told we'd be in 142, but still...As for the IAMNPF, if the discussion has to be about deferred compensation, then it really needs to be about larger employer contributions and higher matches. That's about as close as you can get to putting more money in someone's pocket without actually increasing their base rate.My IAMNPF multiplier is something on the order of $38/mo.
I think maybe people have been telling you a lot of things? Friends don't always tell the truth especially when they truly care about them and don't want to hurt them.Kev3188 said:That's not what we've been told.
Doesn't matter day 1 or 20 years same amount. You understand my pointrobbedagain said:World port The company injects $1,15 an hr for the FT employee and $.75 for the PT employees on the hours theyre scheduled working I do not believe OT or swaps go towards it when the employee does either or
Yes they did abandon them. Thats the first sin. Never abandon your organizing targets. Too many good peeps get fired. Happened at continental as the iam always pulled out. You have no idea how to organize but they are pompous and resemble 700, lehive, stassi, etc who are clueless on leading and strategizing organizing.WeAAsles said:NOT two separate issues because you were not grandstanding like this when they were supporting your cause. If it's true and I'm beyond sorry, truly beyond sorry to say this. If even when they were putting in money and resources if the ground troops can't even get up to 35% then what is the point of continuing on?
Strong advertising still doesn't always get people to sign up for the service Kev.
Beyond sorry again to say this Kev but you come across as angry at that District because they have abandoned you guys. It's like your an emotional jilted ex lover intent on getting even because the girl moved on?
That came from the Grand Lodge. Are you saying they are lying? What possible motivation would they have?WeAAsles said:I think maybe people have been telling you a lot of things? Friends don't always tell the truth especially when they truly care about them and don't want to hurt them.
But many times your best friend is the ones who try to be always honest with you. Fortunately those are the friends I have.
same but the problem is that 75% of new hires quit before their 6th year. That means that the iampf pockets ALL the company contributions. It really hoses new hires.Worldport said:Tim does the company contribute to the IAMPF the same amount per hour for a day 1 employee as it does a 12 year man. With CWA 5.5% of someone making $10 is different than someone making $30
Unfortunately, that list at my carrier is a long one. A little advocating (even if just in the court of public opinion) on those people's behalf by the IAM would go a long way...Tim Nelson said:Yes they did abandon them. Thats the first sin. It.s funny you say cult ture I work and am on the bus everyday with DL folks and I actually did see some NW people transform and become DL programmed. To be fair a lot didn't buy into itWeAAsles said:Kev where does the money or resources come from to support your cause? I know that you don't hate the IAMAW as a total entity. But do you really think any Lodge is going to continue on with you if the wheels aren't moving? Your guys have to prove they want it. Not the other way around.
I just told 700. I wish I could fly in and grab you and bring you in with us. I can't even begin to imagine your frustration having had it and lost it. But none of us can come and get you and all the other extremely hard working "Union Brothers and Sisters" that we know are stuck in that damn Cult-ture.
WeAAsles, I asked you a hypothetical question on the AMT forum. I'll ask it here for you and others. What if your work group bested even United in salary. Comparable vacation and sick time, holidays and holiday pay. Basically matched them on every article. Even the IAMNPF and 401k match.....BUT the one concession they wanted from your group is to outsource deicing...Would you be YEA or NAY?WeAAsles said:And the new UAL deal is around an $80 per month multiplier starting next year and moving up. I'd jump on that new UAL IAM retirement deal in a heartbeat.
So the IAM new hires are getting a much better retirement with a larger percentage than the CWA'sTim Nelson said:same but the problem is that 75% of new hires quit before their 6th year. That means that the iampf pockets ALL the company contributions. It really hoses new hires.
At any rate, 5.5% for laa or cwa still sucks. Not sure why unions dont bother enhancing retirements to livable levels.
regards,
The multiplier doesnt mean squat. the company is putting more money in my pension today but my multiplier is $48, down from $81. They have a continual slashing trend to keep things in the green. Twice in 13 years they pushed the fund in the green by changing benefit amounts. Now the new pension laws will allow then to whack retirees. In theory, $80 is decent, but it is just monopoly money and at clear and future risks.WeAAsles said:And the new UAL deal is around an $80 per month multiplier starting next year and moving up. Not saying anyone in particular is lying. Just that I'm not someone who believes everything people tell me especially when they may just want to placate me.Kev3188 said:That came from the Grand Lodge. Are you saying they are lying? What possible motivation would they have?
i had an inside organizer get fired so we employed him and stood by him at airtran. After 29 straight organizing losses, my airtran campaign won everyone on the ground other than mx, and it was because we developed relationships and trust.Kev3188 said:Unfortunately, that list at my carrier is a long one.
