2015 Fleet Service thread

Another thing I don't get with hubs in MIA,DFW,PHX and LAX why the navy blue shirts?
Again when they first started the program you could get either blue or white. I ordered ALL white. The reason why is the last time they let us get white they eventually discontinued that because when white gets a little grimy we don't look as "presentable"

I knew they would do the same thing again. I try to never forget the past.

And in the summer I only wear sport shirts with that material that sweat drys fast on. They were ramp authorized when I bought them so if anyone ever says I can't wear them anymore cause they have the old logo (no one ever has) I'm going to tell them they owe me $20.00 for each shirt.

I have been hearing many complaints from former US guys now working on the AA side regarding the new uniforms... in particular the pants are tearing in the back and along the crotch, the fabric is far too heavy (especially in summer months), and the dark colors are going to make for a miserable time when July comes.

Obviously, those in charge have never worked outside in the sun, as the AW/US issued Dickies along with heather gray t-shirts were fine (and probably cheaper).
In the summer you'll never catch me dead in long pants. And I don't care what anyone thinks of my legs. I'm not looking to win a beauty contest at work.

Wish I could work in sandals even sometimes. (I don't push my luck that far though)

I ordered all 34's to start my first 6 when they changed the uniform program. NO none of them fit dammit. They come a size small which they didn't tell us till after. So now every year I have to order pants again. Size 36.
I have to do the same thing for my shorts/pants...

Going the other way, I have to order my hoodies a size /smaller/ than what I normally would wear...

The uniforms are made in Bangladesh from the finest (lowest bid) materials.

They must've used them as mannequins when they were designing these things, they obviously  weren't designed with the <ahem> stouter American physique in mind.

I took all the pants and shorts to a tailor and had them reinforce the crotch seams after busting the third pair just hooking up a towbar.Cost a few bucks but I get it back in the uniform upkeep deduction.

in my station  only a handful of peeps got their new uniforms  most of us  myself included are still awaiting for it since like last fall when we first ordered it.   sucks for sure

The new uniforms represent a blatant disregard for the Fleet at the new AA. Order your uniform online without the opportunity to inspect things like material. One size fits all. Color options: Dark navy blue. I'll bet that color works well in MIA, PHX, LAS, CLT (in the summer), MCO, JAX, DFW etc. etc. I'm sure the price was right though. And we got it done by May 01, 2016. Lots of corporate shirts and ties patting themselves on the back right now. I expect the posture to be the same at the negotiating table. I believe this is what the NC should, if they haven't already experienced it, expect in coming negotiations. Especially, when proposals on Articles pertaining to scope and compensation, are exchanged. BRACE!!!

I think (someone correct me) LAA had those uniforms before any merger announcement. We already know what our compensation will be, if Parker is true to his word and I think he will be. Scope now that's another thing  that's the tough one and if they are taking this long for the "easy" articles you can imagine what we are in for.

If you haven't got the feel from the Town Hall Meetings when the "Big three" speak (Parker, Isom, Kirby), then you never will.

And what feel am I supposed to gain? They just want to be fair, give us lots of money and restore the history of poor labor relations that have existed over the past years? Not sure what you're feeling but I don't trust. Based on past history on both sides (LUS and AA) I don't know how anyone could. Time will tell.

Doesn't matter what Parker/Kirby/Isom say, people are only going to hear whatever validates their preconceived opinions.  It's all rhetoric and speculation anyway until we see the language they want us to vote on.

I thought things were going good until they slowed down negotiations (I'm not saying the association isn't responsible too) but if they though we were going to just take the money and live with the rest of the bankruptcy articles for the next probably 8 years they're nuts. I still think they could get it done if they wanted to

Let me try again!

IF YOU HAVEN'T GOT THE FEEL THAT THE COMPANY COULDN'T GIVE A RAT'S ABOUT YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE UNIFORMS, NEGOTIATING TIMELINE, CONCESSIONS, FROM THE SMILES THE BIG THREE IN THEIR SUITS AND TIES THROW YOUR WAY EVERY SINGLE TIME THEY SPEAK AT A TOWN HALL MEETING, THEN YOU NEVER WILL.
YES, BRACE, IT IS NOT NEARLY OVER...AS THE ASSOCIATIONS UPDATES HAVE STATED, THEY WANT, WANT, WANT.

I don't think they are in any hurry. Regardless of what lip service we get from "the big three" at town hall meetings. Let's see what they propose at the table when it comes to the meat and potatoes. I don't expect much with their usual cost neutral position. $$$ for jobs is what I expect. The beat goes on. History repeats itself until there are lessons learned from both sides. We shall see.

I still question why did the donkeys hire the union busting firm if they supposenly allegedly want to get these contracts settled like yesterday   it just goes to show these donkeys are never to be trusted

At this rate the merger itself between US/AA will have taken less time to do than a joint fleet contract.  Much much more envolved to merge 2 big airlines together compared to a piddly fleet contract but it got done in cracker jack time.  I don't care what the company or the union says it doesn't take this long to get the current so called bulletin points taken care of.  This whole bs about how its taking awhile because its going to be the best in the industry is more bs.  The company is going to offer what it offers AND THAT IS IT!  They could have offered it months ago, now, or even years from now..its all up to them as they have dinosaur deals in place for the long term saving them money.
