2015 Fleet Service thread

That was probably Eagle Ground Service? DelValle's little pet project he tried to start during the BK to replace us with. Non Union outfit. After Parker nabbed the airline DelValle and his little pet money making scheme were chucked out on their rear.

Good riddance.
I'm pretty sure that's what they were. They had one guy who got fired from us who got kicked to the curb again, but a few came on as new hires here

Here was my preferred ride:

You just described my dream Rat. To kick all of those companies to the curb and take on all of the best workers they have. I don't blame a guy who just wants to work. I blame these scu*bag companies that take advantage of them and pay them chit.

Once again, not being a pessimist, things do not seem to be going to well on the Fleet side.

Also, I do wish they would remove a little bit of the vagueness and let us know what the company see's differently.

As for the temporary employees, AA has been down this road before and it did not work, yet I see it appears once again.

One other thing, this update came out fairly early. Apparently on Fridays there isn't much negotiating going on. So we have periodic weeks when they meet, and those are not complete weeks. Disappointing if not disturbing to say the least.

On the US side I can't remember the last temporary, maybe at least over 30 years ago but I don't know about  the Hubs.I wonder what they got for the differential

I give the negotiating team the benefit of the doubt at this point. Not a fun job dealing with people that will try to get over on you any way they can. Surely the company loves to drag things out and keep their cost advantage, as they know what they are going to have to fork up down the road.Temp employees proposed by the company sounds like they want something like Deltas ready reserve. They got enough out of everyone before and during bankruptcy. Just say no to these things, which it sounds like they did. Lots of people disturbed about the drawn out process but Delta and UAL went to their employees with better deals, The guys we have just don't put enough value on employees to get a deal done quickly. They could have worked us for a better deal if they took initiative earlier but they sat there enjoying the advantage that will soon bite them in the ass.

It will bite them in the butt if UA approves, to the tune of over$3000 a year

The Association has already strongly hinted AA is seeking concessions for the pay. Do you not think they will be asking for even more with this bump in pay. Get ready for an even longer drawn out process. Again, absolutely NO givebacks!

You think?

That hint might be a whisper campaign designed to manage expectations...
Kev, "might be a whisper campaign"?.
Many of us that have been here long enough know this game well.

And it's working, just listen to Weasles and others on here say that anyone expecting to get back everything we had in the 2001 contract is a 3 headed alien and completely off their rocker, even though the company is now making 10 times what they were back then in profits.

Edit for clarification:
Yes folks, if we don't get back everything we had in the 2001 contract then it's concessionary by definition.

Getting everything would imply reopening and continuing on with our now frozen Pension or having a much lower medical rate. We also had a ton more staffed cities prior to 9/11 and cabin, bus drivers and Building Cleaners.

Do you see us getting all of that back?

But I do see the possibility of us getting back A LOT of the things we lost in my career. Our negotiators are well aware and kept our old contract books.

This is how I see this news for us. First let's put aside the fact that Doug Parker has been saying Delta or United plus 3% whichever one is greater, that will now bring us to $30.77. That's $4.23 per hour over where we would have been had we signed a deal last year that locked us in at $26.54.

The BIG factor is that on Dec 30 of this year UAL management had the option to go down to 7 staffed stations for ramp. Our guys if the talks had begun earlier would have had to compete against that fact. AA absolutely would have brought up what their competitor could do and would have wanted the same option. A very difficult position to negotiate against.

Now the IAM at UAL have secured 30 permanently staffed Stations and get to keep another 17 stations until 2024 that can be renegotiated to be held even longer in the future.

This is why waiting was the best option for us no matter what anyone might want to tell you otherwise.
