His job is to maximize profits for the benefit of the shareholders and board of directors.
You can't fault Doug for doing his job anymore than he can fault you for doing yours.
Who you need to fault is the entity YOU PAY to negotiate on your behalf.
What you have is a situation where the employee (The TWU/Association) does not answer to the employer (the TWU/Association membership). Is it any wonder things are broken?
YOU need a UNION that answers to YOU.
