2015 Fleet Service thread

PHL has lav and water performed by fleet
I'd have to assume every station fleet waters the aircraft unless you need to drive over a portable? You do mean the water hose right?

Really? What can we do as "people" to hold the company accountable for not being ready? Withhold our services?  Can you provide details on how to accomplish this because my options  as an individual are very limited.

And don't we "people" pay union dues to an organization to keep the company in check on our behalf?
Work by the book, plain and simple

A Union's job is to enforce the CBA and represent the members, not keeping the company in check.

water truck
DFW and MIA have a hose that we roll out from the front of the gate that we use to water the aircraft. It's a crew function and not a separate line bid job.

I think it's done that way in most other stations too as far as I know.

lav and water is a separate duty assignment in phl     there are 2 functions       you either do lavs all day or water all day    [ LUS ] our gate teams are not responsible for water

Is that it? Is that all we have to show displeasure with the company? Working by the book?

I've been working by the book since 2003. Doesn't accomplish squat if we're on different pages. As I'm working by the book, my union brother is working all the overtime he can producing for the company. The concept doesn't work! Any other options?

If we are true union brothers we would have to be on the same page, and that will never happen with the IGM mentality at AA.

Do you not consider representing your members as a form of policing the company?

(sorry fleet for posting in your thread!)

I have been in two thirty day cooling off periods and a strike.

Working by the book is the only way to pressure the company to negotiate in good faith and make a deal.
Been there, done that, and have the t-shirt to prove it.

Peer pressure.

The union isnt your reps, its all the members, the members are the ones who have the power against the company, not the reps.

And just how many of those places you claim are still around?

I question why did DP hire the union busting firm led by Jerry Glass when the company made 6.3 billion profit and after they made the statement...we got so much  money we dont know what to do with it.

Tell you what DP   give me the dam check book and Ill make every dam rampy and maintaince person happy campers!
