kev  from what ive heard  we don't handle mail in our hubs  but we sure do get tons of it  coming from the hubs  in particular phx dfw and clt    rare from mia and never from phl   it does not come as shock that dl would allegedly outsource mail handling in ATL
LAA has already outsourced all mail system wide and cargo with the exception of DFW-MIA-ORD-JFK-LAX. I think what you might be hearing is this will be the case when the contracts are combined. And yes, I think catering is gone as well.

you must not be up on current events, AA mail handling was outsourced during bankruptcy. We do load mail but we do not bring it shipsside.

If we don't have a settlement by spring, is likely that Parker may start shifting work, especially in PHL if he is bringing Envoy in there to replace or enhance Republic. Presently, in PHL, 40% of our members jobs are NOT protected by scope. There are hundreds that work Republic that Parker can switch over to be contracted out, along with a couple hundred in that other area. When Parker said he wanted an expedited time schedule and contract, I believe he meant. For that reason, I think we will have a contract by late March that will be voted upon presumably by Late May, early June.regards,
somebody please toss Timmy a us air contract book. I think he is skimming through the pages again.

Parker is not a dumb guy, he will not disrupt negotiations by drastically making changes that will piss off Lombardo and Martinez.

You must not comprehend...that's exactly what I said. We may load and unload, but the handling of the mail is outsourced in all stations.
Likewise, we may load and unload cargo, the handling of it otherwise is outsourced with the exception of those stations I mentioned.

Of course catering is gone. If people are willing to give up on it so easily.

In "people" I'm assuming you are talking about the wonderful Association. They are they ones negotiating, correct.
And if they do bring a T/A back with catering on the chopping block and the damn near $30 an hour pay that the Association had fall in their lap, how do you think the masses will vote W, I won't even give you a hint.

Where's the line in the sand?
Why would I say what my line in the sand is, or what I might be willing to vote for publicly? Forums is far from a private source of information or conversation.

Ok and how about we also get to vote on a lifting of any PT cap whatsoever? Or maybe no medical subsidy? We pay 100% of the total cost.

But no. When I talk about people I mean us. If we continue to telegraph that the only thing we care about is one page that states what our pay rates are going to be, they might as well not even bother to negotiate at all.

Catering also is something that right now is specific to the IAM side of the fence. Why don't we start talking about losing something that we have that they don't if we have to have this conversation?

How about Freight?

Or we can have a conversation about the things we want back? Cabin, Stations, $12,500 Moving Allowance, System Protection, Retiree medical, Pension, Penalty Hours, Paid Lunch, Etc?

Didn't the agents just get rid of all the Red Coats? Lower pay or not why is it unreasonable for our group to want some of our old jobs brought back in house?

I would agree with all you say W, but then reality sets in. Time will tell...Our negotiators will present us with our choices, take them or leave them.

AA I'm just not a fan of the negative mindset of what are they going to want or "take" from us. The airline financials really don't support us having to think that way anymore.

And I'm just adding the Tube because I think it really rocks and it's been raining all day here.

IMO a lot of people at AA right now remind me of United right before they signed the turd they took. Give me money and an early out we don't care if you can completely cut the ramp, just give me my money now. On top of it, it was half of the union you have now that sold them up the river.

I hope its just a loud minority and both the ramp and maintenance side of AA end up with industry leading in all sections not just pay (that will probably quickly be passed by Delta with another raise like they did with the FAs). 15-25% operating margins, how anyone is willing to take concessions right now is crazy to me. Labor should be gaining right now, we gave enough the last 15 years.
Best of luck weAAsles
