Therefore, you should understand the reason I don't like cheats or will tolerate or justify such behavior.

Get it?
I was a geek. "Brains over brawn" I always said.

Still ate my Wheaties and I am healthy to this day.

Of course I "get it". You couldn't get of your local school's backyard where sports are concerned.  No harm, no foul, as the vast majority of people and even "athletes" can't. It's actually kinda' cute that anyone could even offer up "lettered in two sports" to impress.... ;)

"Therefore, you should understand the reason I don't like cheats or will tolerate or justify such behavior."...? Wonderful...Now kindly explain to us all just exactly WHY such as your "noble" self wish to magically become even whole decades "senior" to coworkers I've flown with for those real-life decades?

There is nothing wrong with that. Reality check, Robin Williams is dead. Suicide.

Never ever, let this crap get to you that point.

Done for the night..

Amen to those thoughts snap. Life's the truest Miracle, very temporary at it's best and all-too-fragile already. I'll note the loss of man who gifted us with so many smiles, and make no judgements on what ills overcame him, but simply hope that his soul now be Blessed.

P.S. "Done for the night.." Have a good night snap. Whatever else is true; we're all just people, and putting that in perspective isn't the worst thing to do at times...

I saw the news as I was writing my last post.

I never saw anybody seriously hurt at a so-called pro wrestling match. That's the way I look at it here.

I never understood the levels of depression, one could sink, Robin Williams was a gift to our generation, that is what we share.

Indeed. His incredibly quick wit was a gift to all. He used to enjoy performing improv at clubs that'd hosted him in the SFO area before his becoming famous. The last time I saw him was in full-bearded/Moscow on the Hudson" aftermath. He played those in the audience who even "dared" open their mouths like the master "quick-draw" artist he was. I've uber-arrogantly admitted this of only a very few human beings I've encountered, but the thought then came solidly: "Damm!...This sunuvabitch is "faster" than I am!" The man was true master of his craft. I'm very sorry to hear of his death.

For Mr. Williams and all of us mere mortals, after all the-too-often-murderous and insane brutality of our world....let's hope good dreams do come...Who knows? :) P.S. Greedy and infantile nic fantasies count for nothing more than an over-"loaded" diaper. ;)

I very much doubt that any of you "spartan soldiers" have ever seen "anybody seriously hurt", or "you'se" would have to actually grow up a bit.....Just sayin'....Don't take the "touchy-feely" song wrong. What's needed to do is needed to do....Period. Feel perfectly free to always sleep better than me, especially since "you'se" have,...what was it?...OH!...TWO "varsity letters", but "you'se" do at least sport "patriot" ties?...Right?......Words just fail me sometimes.....

P.S.For any pretended "spartans" and "soldiers" of AWA?...Well...If any "you'se" have even half an actual brain: Consider the plight of Robin WIlliams, and at least look around you always for those even "you'se" might even possibly have the brains and empathy to actually help.

Given two mighty "minus votes" for the immediately above; It must be fairly granted that any "brains" considerations are clearly minimal within mighty "sparta". Hmm...In full fairness though; perhaps, instead of the necessarily sane notion of helping others; I instead, somehow offended some "battle"-tested-"knights" of "sparta"? I'm now curious: Did I lose the "spartan soldiers" audience at "empathy to actually help" any others...or were they already absent at the first mention of "brains"?

P.S. "spartan soldiers" with your declared "All out warfare" on the worked years of others...Since "you'se" are obviously experts on matters of spiritual perfection: Do "you'se" think I should be at all concerned with God's take of my life's deeds?....Or could we, all of us, just "beat the rap" if only some human arbitrator can be found to agree with our selfish BS? ;) C'mon now; little things like "Thall shalt not kill" or even just: "Thall shalt not covet any goods which are thy neighbors"...and all that sort of "silly nonsense" comes to mind, but heck!....Aren't we all of a "special" time and circumstance? Do I get a free pass for my actions?...Do "you'se'"? Hasn't St. Nic made "you'se" truly "special"?...The very Chosen Ones? :)

While hardly ever having even come close to "the most dangerous flying in world", like your mighty "cap'n aux", nor being anything even close to a "knight"...Well...kindly take this "gray-haired, slope-shouldered old easthole" 's rantings for at least face value. The legal insanity alone is likely to keep "expectations" in check indefinitely....No matter to any rational person. For "you'se" I want it all NOW infants!...and I've NO concern for personally at all deserving it?....Well...I've still a son in Afghanistan. Please try to make your attempted "Brave New World" into something his sort wouldn't puke to see....Umm..we're idiots...but the arbitrator said....won't help the idiot part...EVER! :)

"The west pilots have not been able to grasp  the reality  that american pilots put air cal, reno and twa on the bottom of their list.  The west's lesser of two evils is USAPA.

The west pilots are the quintessential example of those that are "cutting off their nose to spite their face".

Addendum": The Iraqi (human beings) slaughtered in that war alone top a hundred thousand. Given the bull-dozed over mass graves of the time...we'll never really know how many. In the meanwhile, as "you'se" pathetic little children cry at night for a nic pacifier...well, I'll leave "you'se" to even TRY and figure out what's been happening in the world around "you'se. For America's "kids" meanwhile, well...let's just hear another rousing round of "this is sparta!", and just how much "you'se" pathetic little punks can even possibly imagine that "you'se"...umm..."deserve"well, actually ANYTHING in life that was never personally EARNED:

MEC Chairman’s Message

February 8, 2008

"This is MEC Chairman Jack Stephan with a chairman’s message to the pilots for Friday, February 08, 2008.

After nine days of talks between the US Airways and America West Steering Committees, the America West contingent has chosen to stand down talks. At this time they are not prepared to address seniority implementation issues, specifically, mitigating the damages caused by the Nicolau Award.

Recall that we met to determine if we had enough common ground between us on important issues to come up with a comprehensive counterproposal for both MECs to review. As we told you, this counterproposal would have to adequately address not only all open JNC issues, but more importantly for the AAA pilots, pay parity and seniority protection. We came to the neutral site at Wye River, MD with these goals in mind, and within these goals we developed certain thresholds needing to be achieved for the benefit of the US Airways pilots. Despite what you may have heard or read, none of that changed during the meeting.

While we respect what the AWA pilots were there to accomplish, the US Airways MEC’s position remains the same and our MEC’s Steering Committee members did not compromise that position. We never wavered from our goal of protecting you from the Nicolau Award, and our threshold for meeting those goals never changed.

I’ll be calling the MEC into session for a special meeting next week. While there is no comprehensive counterproposal to bring back to the MEC, they'll receive a briefing on the process, and I plan to add two other items to the agenda: developing a distribution methodology for 2007 Profit Sharing and Stock Options and to review an agreement extending the timeframe for filing disputes concerning flow-through issues.

The MEC will now review our options. Keep in mind that the odds of any plan we develop succeeding are greatly diminished by members of this MEC continuing to cower behind their fear of failure and seeking to sabotage any process we elect to pursue. You can see that all of the noise and accusations coming out of PHL Council 41 about the work of our Steering Committee was unfounded and disingenuous. When it came time to meet directly with our AWA counterparts, we did exactly what we said we would, AAA pilots working with AWA pilots trying to mitigate the damages of the Nicolau Award.

Excuses and alibis will not replace leadership. We made a promise, and we kept it. There was no cramdown, no end-run deal, no deal chasing and no back room conspiracies. I hope you did not fall for these contrived ideas spread in order to try and scare you. The majority of this MEC and your MEC officers are not afraid of failure. We said we were going to look under every stone to find solutions and we meant it. My only fear is that some of our MEC fear the search may actually produce something that would require
them to lead rather than criticize. I can tell you that the majority of your MEC was willing to continue the search. Although this process has not worked so far, we are no worse off for engaging in the exercise.

You would have been extremely proud of our team of pilots who met at the Wye River Conference Center. These are men of honor and integrity and they are most importantly, men of their word. Their commitment to the process and to you was rock solid. Threats and intimidation attempts by some minority disenchanted MEC members and paper tigers did not sway these men of honor from pursuing the direction that the majority of the MEC had set. They did their best trying to reach a solution to the Nicolau Award. At this time the AWA pilots are unwilling to address our seniority concerns. Again, we are no worse off for having engaged in this process. We remain right where we started and that is in separate operations with the West.

I thank you for your patience during the past few weeks. I know it’s been difficult. There will be other options at our disposal after the MEC gets the chance to strategize internally next week. While conditions and opportunities may change, the goal has not and our threshold for success has not. Our mission remains the same, to protect you from the damages caused by the Nicolau Award.

Thank you for listening. As always, fly safe and continue to look out for each other."

Those last are always good words Claxon....but I'm thinking I've just-plain-had enough of of "spartan soldiers" and their "varsity letter jackets" for now. Likely because of a stepson still in Afghanistan, which "spartan soldiers" couldn't even begin to understand.... No matter for the internet. Carry on Brother.

Thank your Step Son for his service.  I can not imagine your worry of such a young lad, especially because you have experienced the pain of conflict yourself.

The best we can do for our mission on this forum is to try and garner respect and dispense wisdom.  The message sometimes has to be delivered "softly while being humble of carrying a big stick".  (paraphrase)
