Amen to those thoughts snap. Life's the truest Miracle, very temporary at it's best and all-too-fragile already. I'll note the loss of man who gifted us with so many smiles, and make no judgements on what ills overcame him, but simply hope that his soul now be Blessed.

P.S. "Done for the night.." Have a good night snap. Whatever else is true; we're all just people, and putting that in perspective isn't the worst thing to do at times...
With all due respect to any "untimely" death such as Mr. Williams, let us not forget that death is a master we must all greet in time.  Let us not forget those whom have paid the ultimate price and realize that death is an everyday occurence. Let us not forget the men and women returning from our wars as well.

“To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;
To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause: there's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life;
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,
The pangs of despised love, the law's delay,
The insolence of office and the spurns
That patient merit of the unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin? who would fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,
The undiscover'd country from whose bourn
No traveller returns, puzzles the will
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all;
And thus the native hue of resolution
Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought,
And enterprises of great pith and moment
With this regard their currents turn awry,
And lose the name of action.--Soft you now!
The fair Ophelia! Nymph, in thy orisons
Be all my sins remember'd!”

Monty Python; now for something totally different....

I am in CQT training in CLT.

For what's it's worth....RUMOR in ground school has it that with the merger and the delivery of AA's 787's, they need more room on the west coast, as far as gate space, to launch more Asian flying. To free up gate space the plan is to move 767-300's to PHX for flying to Hawaii, etc while retiring 757's.

I would assume that getting on down the road with SLI would enhance the changes of the West boys flying those aircraft, instead of having AA pilots move in while SLI is delayed.

Heck, no!   They expect (demand) the 787s and nothing less!  (Well, maybe 777s...we already know they're not in any way interested in A350s.)  After all, they saved US, and we saved AA!  Just ask them.

Snap! Now the APA boys are going to fly those routes. They will be DFW trips passing through PHX. Going to Hawaii, back to PHX. Maybe a deadhead in and out.
More trouble ahead for the West kids. Meanwhile Leonidas makes it worse and worse.
Time to give it up.

"So my fellow west pilots and I have been suing to have our new hires in 2004 go above the East pilots hired in 1986, funny huh?  Well, I guess you had to be there."

Don't think that can happen.. Mou says usair pilots fly those Hawaii routes

Hmmmmm....  What could the West reps possibly object to?  What will the APA do?

Tick, tock...

At approximately 16:15, the Board returned to open session with the following resolution on the merger committee, which was moved/seconded by Borman/Taylor. PHX Chairman John Scherff called for a Division of House vote (see below). The resolution passed 2824 to 1113 (Yes - CLT, DCA, PHL; No - PHX).
WHEREAS, the BPR has been fully briefed by the Merger Committee concerning the status of matters in the course of the recent mediation concerning a Protocol Agreement, and
WHEREAS, because of the nature of the rules agreed to concerning mediation, the matters addressed are subject to a confidentiality requirement, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the BPR adopts and approves the recommendation of the Merger Committee to transmit the proposal recommended by the Merger Committee to the Mediator, Company and APA with the signature of the President and the approval of the of the BPR. The proposal as recommended by the Merger Committee is acceptable to the BPR.  If the proposal is accepted by the Company and APA no further action is required by the BPR to accept the Protocol as proposed by the Merger Committee and the resulting agreement will be immediately published to our pilots.

Indeed... I'll be interested to see the proposal. The fact the PHX wanted to force a roll call vote is interesting...

Doubt if that would include a single flight number, thru flight from DAL. Maybe yes, maybe no, I guess you could always throw the question on the grievance pile.
