What I don't understand about the NW unions

Not sure why people are so surprised. Unions consist of people. People, for the most part are looking out for their own interest (since unions and companies obviously are not). For them to turn on their own is no more surprising than for a company to turn on it's own.

It's human nature. Read a history book.

What a ridiculous conclusion! "Read a history book"...you might be referencing a selective history book. LOL

The history of labor unions in 20th century USA would suggest that you've deleted quite a bit. I will also suggest that you don't understand the principles of the labor movement present day. It's my firm belief that stress placed on union employment has been increased by outsourcing, globalization and illegal immigration. This is where good people have to stand tall and not add to the problems forementioned.

Under any conditions there is never a valid excuse for crossing a picket line.

What is going on with the mechanics is a shame. It's like your brother stabbing you in the back versus a stranger stabbing you in the back. Both hurt, but being stabbed by your brother brings a little extra sauce. Sad state of affairs.

Sad indeed! Such troubled times are when you find out who will stand tall and who is a SCAB. The worst slap in the face of strikers has come from the former strikers who have turned SCAB. I guess some people will do anything to keep from making a change. How disgusting!
