That was mentioned in our meeting today that more mech jobs will be a result of the IAM contract.
Rumor has it the company has ceased negotiations with the IBT.

my my my.....
IMO from what I've heard from reliable sources alot of IAM mechanics have turned in IBT cards, not to mention almost all of the non-represented west folks I know. If true, then IBT will have enough cards to have an election called. Let the campaigning begin.
yes they have, but to what degree? i can guarantee you there isn't enough to warrant a good runoff,,,,,

Dell, to what extent are you willing to guarentee there won't be enough cards? Maybe your right...but then again maybe not.

Ok, the opening offer is minimum wage.

Mechs would reorganize. Company may even throw some carrots to make the mechs rethink re-organizing. Sky won't fall.

And at the risk of repeating myself and getting hammered again..........why wouldn't the members vote?? No one has been able to explain this with a reasonable explanation. (Does that make sense??) IMO, because it's always been that way, isn't a reasonable explanation.

Why would any union member support a decertification vote?

What side are they on?
Is it not a vote for a choice in representation?? And yes, if members don't vote, it could turn into decertification but it's not a vote to decertify. Or is that just how it appears to destined?

Today there is representation. If nothing happens there will still be representation.

If there is a vote there will be either representation or no representation.
Exactly. If there's a vote, then each and every member that is eligible to vote needs to vote. But it's been said before that the members have become apathetic and just won't vote........because it's always been that way. So in the end, the vote counts.

I don't understand why a member wouldn't excercise the right to vote.
