VICTORY--IAM

just off the wire.....
Funny!! My copy says "NMB Issues US Airways Single Carrier Ruling" It doesn't say IAM OR IBT.

Has to be an election first.

You all are counting your chickens before the eggs hatch.
Yes there does. And in my opinion, there should be an election.

Isn't everyone counting their chickens before the eggs hatch?? From an "outsider" point of view, everyone is.

Now, answer me this.......isn't it now time for the IAM to start presenting their case outside this board and from more than a few people???

Bob,

It happened when Piedmont and Allegheny merged, the ibt forced an election for the stock clerks and 50%+1 failed to vote and they were decertified and became non-union with no contract.
Serious questions........how did the stock clerks wind up under the M&R contract? How long were they non-union?

The stock clerks at Allegheny and Piedmont commuters had their own contracts, ibt forced an election and they were decertified.

It was not at mainline. They are currently non-union.

Your ignorance is showing once again, big differance.

i thought the IBT represents some part of PI. I know that the ramp at PI is not unionized. I dont know about the rest of the PI system.

well there...in fourteen days if IBT can't come up with the 35% figure of which no union would waste the time and money to pursue in an attempt to decertify an existing union...we shall see, won't we?
Fred Has Already Said.......and Fred Never Lies :p

It will stay as-is in the spirit of the propaganda war. However even I have a question to pose.

Has anyone seen any collaborating articles or notices for this topic? I can not find anything even on the NMB.gov site that a ruling of any type has been reached. All we have so far is a PDF (a slanted one at that) on an IAM site.

Paul, the NMB ruling you refer to,even though in a non-specific nature will award to the union with the superior membership numbers as in past precedentsand if the opposing union can not present a specific case to warrant a runoff election between the two unions by meeting the vote rule of providing out of the total of all working and furloghed and subject to recall mech and related equaling 50% plus one vote to decide the outcome of a union runoff vote.
;)

That part I understand dell. I just can not find anything to confirm or deny the PDF that originally started this topic. Maybe it has not had time to hit the normal medias, maybe the nmb.gov personnel were lax in posting it to their site as well, and tomorrow there will be a flood of information regarding the ruling. All I am saying is that I have not found/seen anything regarding the single-carrier status ruling other than that single document.

You know as well as most how easy it is to slap something together, post it for the masses to see, claim that it is so, but in fact be nothing more than false information. Am I saying that is what this is? No, but I am asking for something to collaborate (preferably from an independent source) this notice.
