US/UA Merger Master Thread

Domestically or internationally, to think that we are any better today is pure BS. Nothing more than PURE bs. I have been on an E190 with a bad 2L door for over a month.....ONE MONTH. It's bad and they know it. Blow the slide and just SEE who takes the business for it. For those of you that are STILL tokin' off the pipe take a look around.....we must ALL be wrong. It's a joke. Yeah ya started cleaning planes.....why has this "talented" management had to take such an initiative to clean the aircraft? Isn't that standard practice at an airline? They went two years of virtually NO cleaning and millions of passengers beating them up. It's a little late don't you think? PLEASE! ! ! !
The ONLY talent this management team has is stripping everything to next to nothing and charging outrageous prices for the junk product. US is THE worst of the airlines as far as the onboard experience. Hell it's THE worst from booking to inflight experience to getting your bag. Hell even the bag numbers are STILL horrible. Not the worst but bad.

 It is so obvious to anyone that has read this board, that you hate this place. And it doesn't appear as though you try to do anything to help, such as going to the right people to follow up on things quickly. I have seen a huge  improvement on the a/c in the west with new carpet, new seats, the planes look better.........yea sure we come across a mess now and then, but in general..big improvement. I won't let the few planes I come across that need cleaning, ruin my life, but i'll report it.

Are you for real? It is so obvious to anyone that I hate this place? NO, what I do hate is the fact that those that give props to this crap management team won't own up to the fact that they only are a success in the lack of taking care of BASIC items on a daily basis. I'm glad that out in PHX things are changing. WHY I ask did it have to get SO F'n bad that they created a task force to fix it? Shouldn't it have been done right to begin with? I know....since the merger the thought of cleaning airplanes didn't cross their minds? Is that it? THEN...oh wait and THEN you go on to say I don't appear to do anything to help? What should I do? Oh maybe show up on my day off with a bucket and mop? Your a trip. Do you think because you shoot something off to "ask inflight" you get a legit answer? Jesus you are a PERFECT example of why we think some of you are WACKO. Uggggh. Anyway any new news on the merger?

It is so obvious from your posts that you can't stand the East. TP72 may hate Tempe, but TP72 does not hate the customers. I was recently on a Westie A/C and an Eastie A/C. They were both disgusting. US screwed over several pax, with the gate agents promising something to those pax, and then never following through with it. Your beloved Tempe management is a disgrace. The service is lousy and the only people happy seem to be those who are brainwashed or those who have no options and are just thankful that someone would keep them employed because they apparently have no other options.

Perhaps you should fly a real airline that is run be a real management team that cares about its customers and employees. I think you would be shocked how low class your nirvana of airline has become. I still missing flying the old US...not because of glassware, but because the vast majority of the frontline employees were the best in the industry whether you care to believe it or not. And those who were not, well, they gave me lots of laughs for galley humor.

You could quit. You should.

Like the frog in the water that is slowly boiled, most employees do not notice the coming armageddon, the koolaide being stronger than that used by Jim Jones. From employees that feel they must tighten their belts because of high fuel costs, to those who accept the bathroom deodorant without question, the instructions demand the user wear protective gloves and face protection to those that will fly while sick to "save the mission", the company begs for someone to pull the plug.

There will come a point where realization dawns, likely too late to save the corporation. The executives will blame the unions for not giving more, the media will blame the unions because they are afraid of the truth and US will go the way of Eastern, employees making excuses for rotten management to the end.

Sad.

Some of you people really need to up your dosage. This thread , like many before it, has officially gone down the toilet.

If this thread were a fancy dinner, we'd be in a food fight..meanwhile, Southwest and their distant cousins RyanAir and Easyjet chant :jerry:

It isn't our airline that needs reinventing, it's the employees. I wouldn't trust some of these "employees" who post this madness with the operation of a kite much less an aircraft....

Can we talk about merger updates or speculation? (sorry, sharktooth, this wasn't in response to yours)

You could quit. You should.
You should quit. You are depriving the corporation of much needed input by attempting to stifle anyone critical of management.

Who do you think a healthy corporation should keep, a boot-licker or someone willing to speak their mind? How would one determine a healthy corporation? Acceptance of criticism is key. Boot-lickers would be considered an annoyance, at best.

It's OK to be critical, but to hope for the demise of the company is another. US employees that hope bad things to happen towards US should find a company that they can support.

I nominate sharktooth to be the one to email Parker with the complaints of this board. Don't be afraid to use your company email and your real name.

Guess there isn't any merger news.

Who has said they hope for a US demise?

Dougie already knows who I am, but dougie works for the investors (and himself), not US, and therefore, why would he do anything for the employees if it cost him the investor cut?

Unlike you, I understand where dougie is coming from. He is here to maximize the investor cut, that is all. There are ways to deal with that, but they do not involve koolaide.

You're right...in a closely held corporation it should be Shareholders that have the most power, they select the Board of Directors who in turn oversee/select the Officers of US Airways Inc. However unfortunately in todays age it's the Officers who select the Board of Directors by abusing the Shareholder's proxies.

So Dougweiser can get DUIs and keep his job...what an embarrassment he is to other CEOs in the field.

The INVESTORS SHOULD BE PISSED THAT DOUGIE HAS PISSED THE VALUE OF THE SHARES AWAY!

not trying to defend parker here but do you think other ceo's , f/a's,pilot's,mechanics, and a bunch of other people don't drive while they have had a few drinks ? they just maybe haven't been caught. but we are not gonna get into this again. this is about a potential merger between two f'd up airlines.

That wasn't my point...my point was that Dougweiser isn't even doing anything for the Investors right now at that share value.

I just hope that if something is going to happen they make the announcement soon and get it over with. They are running out of time if they want to get it done before the Nutjob leaves office.
