US Pilots labor thread 5/3-

Yeah, what a bunch of pilots. Imagine, getting a little upset when a 17 yr. pilot with no furlough goes behind a new hire. You are right, there is nothing wrong with that. Pilots at other airlines want nothing to do with us? Until they hear what really happened. Then they understand the real meaning of the West greed!

The West brought 120 airplanes to the merger.

Our Reserve First Officers don't deserve to be senior to the Captains flying those airplanes.

Those Captain's should not be furloughed before our Reserve First Officers.

The 17 year pilot and the new hire should be the first two furloughed if they were at the bottom of their respective lists.

The reason why the 17 year pilot is a Reserve First Officer is because we went from 400 to 230
airplanes.

The real meaning of greed is wanting to give that Captain's job to the Reserve First Officer.

What on earth is taking the 9th Circuit so long to render a decision? If I am not mistaken, it took less time for Moses to bring down the Ten Commandments, or the crafting of the Constitution and Bill of Rights, or the Magna Carta.

Is it the judges - or did they make a ruling some time ago and the clerks have been fiddling with the language ever since?

Can the court announce a ruling now, with support language to follow?

Do I have to call them myself ? :)

Patience Grasshopper. When the 9th finishes listing out all the laws that USAPA broke they will then begin to petition Congress to pass all the laws that USAPA intends to break. Once all past/future laws that USAPA has/will break are enumerated by the 9th, then and only then will they rule. Not to fear, Wake has joined the Cryonics Society so that he may be revived to life upon the ruling of the 9th so he can personally rule on the damages.

The 9th delay is really not a problem. The super computer that has the necessary capacity to calculate all the damages caused to the West has not yet been invented.. neither has the medical profession evolved to the point that will sustain life of sufficient length to take possession of the eventual damages award.

The Cryonics Society is exploring discounts for all USAPA members.:D

Prove me wrong.

And (Phoenix) call Cleary and you boys get us a contract to vote on. And then I'll call you when I have a ballot....if thats what you like. Your 'union' is delaying your quality lifestyle.

Interesting idea, let's explore it. The company says the Kirby proposal is still on the table. A show of hands, please say if you are east or west, should USAPA put the Kirby proposal, as it stands today out for a vote, and do you think it would pass?

I'll go first-Yes, let's put it out and No, it won't pass and I'm an eastie that says a GOOD contract would pass.

Good start. A voted down contract with show the company what they need to improve to move this company forward. When is Cleary going to get any contract to vote on? The ball is in your court to get one out there. Stop the delay.

Vote For Eric Fergueson.

The list has now been released for three years. It is time for all of you east guys to come to grips with the facts that the list is not going anywhere.

Question is: Have all you West guys come to grips with the fact that the list in not going anywhere? After all, the list has been released for three years now (and is still powerless).

I think we should go to arbitration again. Only this time you guys have to pinky swear that you'll live up to your end of the bargain.

It is true. The list is going nowhere until the west outnumbers the east. When does that happen?

Au contraire. Save your pinky swear for the ratification ballot.

Answer: I have a federal injunction that says our bargaining agent must use the Nicolau seniority list in any contract..

What do you or usapa have? You were promised DOH and a quick contract. When are you going to get that? usapa is two years old they can not even discuss DOH I bet we see the Nicolau before you see DOH. I would say that makes usapa powerless.

I know what Usapa dosent have: They dont have the courage to put a contract out for a vote, because dictator Cleary knows that it will pass. He knows his East pilots will sell him and the AFO's out, fast. Sorry , thats just the way it is.

Am I wrong? Prove it. Wheres the contract Cleary? Are you afraid of the results?

Vote for Eric Fergueson

Unfortunately for you, we have the law, the list, an injunction, integrity and binding arbitration on our side.

You're fighting a losing battle. But at least you're good at it. (Losing that is).

I don't think we should have a vote until we get a ruling on LOA93. Whether you think our odds are long or short, nothing happens in a vacuum, and the arbitrator will take note of the fact that we are seriously considering the Kirby.

Same goes for the appeal at the 9th, or the MDA lawsuit, or the pension investigation.

Any one - or all of these, depending on the outcome, would sway a vote on either the Kirby or a more attractive contract. Maybe we can't wait for a resolution to all of these issues, but certainly it would be prudent to resolve the first two.

I agree, Once ALL avenues are exhausted and all hope is lost. Then we vote and move on.

And the fines, penalties, and attorney fees keep accumulating for the east to pay with zero hope of any of these fools errands coming out your way. You have forfeited your integrity, your word as your bond, and soon you will forfeit even more money to this lost cause.

Sure. More delay just like you guys want. We wait for this that and the other thing. Anything else you want to wait for? The next rumor of a merger, maybe not until the west has the majority, how about we wait until every east pilot has upgraded then you guy would be willing to consider looking at a contract.

There will always be another excuse with you guys.

The MDA has nothing to do with any of this. The pension has nothing to do with a new contract.

One more time. No comment please. Telling you why this is the way it is. The east pilots, especially f/o and 95% capt are not going for a contract with the Nic for this reason. A contract now with the Nic gives a small raise. Short term. Long term, no upgrades for most f/o' s ever. No widebody for the capt mid and lower tier. Always working weekends and holidays, and bottom vacation. So you give up a capt upgrade, and widebody for the capt. This negates the short term benefit of a contract now. So it makes no sense for most east pilots, except for the most senior, to want a new deal. The majority are willing to wait the 9th, and especially the LOA 93 grievance, and wait the attrition. This is the truth. If you don't like it, there is nothing anyone, either side can do. I expect the usual commentary, diatribe, lecture, threats of fines, on and on. If you want to know the truth, none of that matters, so take it for what it is worth. This is what you are up against.
