As melodramatic as this sounds; I believe the west position's one of legitimate, true, pure wholesale respect for others...and the fine sort seen hereabouts matter really:

EastUS,

Check out what I did to your post without typing a word, just used the delete key. Was this message actually hidden in your fire and brimstone evil rant by some sub-conscience Freudian thing happening?

You are correct though. Counting lost wages, unhatched chickens, Seham's wages, all pretty speculative.

I obviously don't have access to Seham's rates to USAPA, but I am guessing that the total costs and fees that will be charged to USAPA for the North Carolina and Phoenix cases, including the appellate stuff, is well north of one million dollars and I think estimate is very conservative. Actually $5 million would not surprise me.

Do you think that this expense will jeopardize the construction of the USAPA museum? Will the showcase van exhibit be eliminated due to the need to sell the van to pay expenses and damages? Perhaps the adjacent theme park "Pirates of the CarelessSeham" will help offset things.

1) = No, but that's extremely creative   It was gettin' a bit dull around here ;)
2) = Agreed

Heck..I once burned up more than that on a divorce proceeding

Divorced? A warm and compassionate guy like yourself? I find that surprising, nay shocking!

Would you care to spare some advice? If I'm ever in that situation and I find the judge's award unfair, should I just change my name to avoid paying the alimony? Senile old judge, who does he think he's dealing with, a rookie?

1) Yeah!...Ya'd think so!..wouldn't you?
2) In that unhappy event (which I honestly hope you'll never have to see) ..You'll then be fully free to experience a true and actual education in/about the legal system...and I wouldn't dream of spoiling any of the fun surprises inherent in that ;)

You dudes really need to work on your "analogies". So far, you alls attempts are rather dismal, even, pathetic, at best. I hear experience helps.

Is it Brengel (sp?)? I thought I had read a motion requesting a delay in the trial because Mr. B had some other big case to try. Was that just more BS in trying to delay? I thought Seham said this case had no merit. If it has no merit why not get the west ass whoopin' started as soon as possible? Hmmm? Interesting!

A scheduling conflict obviously resolved. Like MDs, attys have areas of expertise. You want a BK attorney representing you in a malpractice case? Picking up on your "whoopin" comment, just like you wouldnt want a proctologist doing brain surgery, you wouldnt a brain surgeon doing a roto-rooter (no double-entendre intended). Even with a benign cyst, you still want the right surgeon doing the removal.

Not even close. 2008 number$, soon to be coming to an LM-2 near you. $5M? One hint, your over a full zero off. The AOL crowd has attorneys too, and I doubt if they have a long-term representation contract with flat monthly rates. One thing good, West pilots are contributing to our defense. I like that.

da snoopo

I don't know. USAPA had a labor lawyer try to file a criminal case, and that went pretty, um........ Oh yeah, I see what you mean!

We all know the point of that suit: to stop the sabotage. "That went pretty" well as I remember. Sabotage stopped, didnt it? So I do see what you mean. Mr Snuper

I would find it hard to believe that the total legal fees and associated costs would be less than $500k. I'm not calling you a liar, just saying that I find that very hard to believe.

I couldn't possibly care less as to how "offensive" you find it.

Just as I won't care how offensive you will find the verdict in the upcoming trial...

Your desperation is showing.

I am so looking forward to the first week of May.

Agreed, very hard to believe. I would estimate $500k per two months during this trial.

Should we start an over under?

Total legal costs for usapa filed in the LM-2. $1.9 million.

Any other estimates? Bragging rights at stake.

What?????

Please, elucidate.

We (East) were offered a 17% pay raise as a company "opener" two years ago.

The majority of the East pilot group thinks more important to keep the two pilot groups separate as a means to block the Nicolau Award.

In a recent update, part of the subject matter included a concern for legal fees. It did not sound like any bragging was occurring on the wests part, regarding legal fees.

Dear Former AWA Pilots,

""Many of you received an unnerving email message from Leonidas LLC on April 1st, and hopefully most of you also saw the accompanying update. We know that the message caused some anxiety among West pilots, and probably elation among many USAPA fans. We directed you to our website where you were required to log in to get additional information. Though the update was labeled as an “April Fools Joke,â€￾ it would be unwise to disregard the underlying message: every West pilot’s career is at stake and that is not a laughing matter. Likewise, pilots sleepwalking through this process as if it is perfectly normal to let others carry the full weight of the effort is unacceptable, but that is exactly what is happening here, and that is why we sent that blast email. As we said in the explanation, we are in an incredible position of stopping USAPA’s Date of Hire cram down. Getting here has not been free. Our lawyers are clearly among the best in the United States, and every West pilot is fortunate that Marty Harper decided to take our case. If you doubt this, then look into RLA history where you will find nothing close to what has happened here. We are thankful for Polsinelli-Shugart, as they did not need our business, yet they were willing to take our case."
