You just mocked your own union and don't even realize it. But I agree with you 100%, pilots should not be entitled to anything more from which they brought to the merger. I am glad you are finally seeing the light...
Thats exactly what conditions and restrictions do. It protects what we all brought to this merger. No one wants to take what you have earned through DOH at your airline.

Its taken a long time for you to see that

I'm glad you are finally seeing the light.

Maybe there is hope for us after all

An amazing assumption. It couldn't have been because of the thought that it used to be a great place to work, and reasonable hope existed for an eventual return to better conditions?
Now then...why did the majority of AWA folks even ever pick that place to work at? ;)

Good question. Although I am from the east coast I did not even apply to US Airways for several reasons. First and foremost, as a seasoned investor, I saw the ultimate demise of that airline back in the early 90's. Secondly, having been based on the east coast, I was exposed to AAA crews on a daily basis and by far they were the most unhappy and miserable people I had met. Thirdly, my wife wanted to experiment with a warmer climate and I had no intention of commuting.

I applied at AWA, felt right at home with very happy and upbeat people at an airline that was growing 15% per year and a 4 year upgrade to look forward to. This was a fabulous place to work until our management, in its ultimate wisdom, chose to acquire the Titanic.

I hate to break it to you sweetheart, it's your union too. I saw the light a long time ago and you would be surprised at what I agree with you about, just not someone taking another's job, which you seem to be fine with as long as it's a west guy taking an east's.

Tigger brought to the merger seniority that would have him furloughed,

I do not understand your reasoning here, please elaborate.

Are you saying tiger would be fuloughed using the Nic, or are you saying tiger's seniority is of no consequence as compared to any east pilots?

Are the six furloughed pilots, hired on out West then re-furloughed still working east? Because no matter how you slice it Tiger was working at the time of the merger, they were not. So if they are still working, they have in effect taken Tigers job.

Is there anyone yet left with even the slightest doubt as to the true nature of the west's "Righteous Position"?

Well...at least it's a slightly different presentation than the infamous: "I want the captain seat...and most of all I want every single east pilot to pay for it!". Small wonder the west's so utterly adamant about seeking to exclude "all the fluff" of "the fairness thing" from any courtroom proceedings.

Hey, you finally got some new material to use! Yea!

You do realize that your side is vehemently trying to exclude 3.5X more "fluff" than the West don't you? Why don't you guys ever see what is plainly in front of you?

I see...So..How'd it actually go with all of the other majors when you applied? You know = the ones that had bases in warmer climates and all?

tazz: "Hey, you finally got some new material to use! Yea!" While you clearly have not.. ;)

EastUS: "I submit that the actual truth of the west's thinking here's represented by Metroyet's observation = "The "it's not fair" argument will be shut out. Sorry." This is further supported by the west's request = "1."USAPA is precluded from offering any evidence, testimony or argument that Nicolau Arbitration was unfair, unreasonable or contrary to ALPA merger policy".

Enough said already...

But I agree with you 100%, pilots should not be entitled to anything more from which they brought to the merger.

Well..umm...except for those A330's of course?

Sigh...Such a truly comical level of utter hypocrisy's rarely so well evidenced anywhere ;)

Are you really that delusional to believe that if a pilot does not work at a legacy carrier than he/she is not of the same caliber as those who have?

I have flown with tazz before and I can attest to not only his abilities but to his character also. And the other thing that you will not hear him brag about is the years he spent serving his country. I highly doubt you would ever see tazz trying to wager money on his ACM skills or compare his oceanic crossings to others.

No insult meant but; why should I be interested in the opinion of one stranger about the credibility of yet another?..and; why all the squirming whenever asked about the reason(s) for being at AWA as opposed to a major?

Methinks the Lady(ies) doth protesteth too much.

"1."USAPA is precluded from offering any evidence, testimony or argument that Nicolau Arbitration was unfair, unreasonable or contrary to ALPA merger policy".

Seems resonable to me in that the Nic is "fair", "reasonable" and "in accordance with ALPA merger policy."

Well at least that seems evident to:

The Arbitration panel: The arbitrator crafted a reasonable list from the evidence at hand. Two pilot nuetrals agreed it was fair, with one taking small exception to the handling of some of the furloughed pilots.

The Company: The list conformed to their joint statement of labor principles and the conditions of the TA and was accepted from the union.

ALPA: Well with the exception of the President, who after he got done tripping over his own private parts, forwarded the list to the company.

The UAL and NW merger committees: They both fellt compeled to offer opinions.

You are acting like this 1 in 9 request is akin to asking to put an irrelevant witness, say like "Sully" on the stand. Oh..wait...is that somehow buried in the 32 request, 8000 pages, and 40 compact discs USAPA turned in?

Seems resonable to me in that the Nic is "fair", "reasonable" and "in accordance with ALPA merger policy."

So then...umm...Just what's your problem out there with running any part of all that evident "fairness" by any jury then?
