Wow, this is really getting old same old stuff, the NIC is dead and gone it's just not going to happen lets move on to something else, :( :(

Attrition on the east is greater than the west. So as someone else said, DOH stings the west in the beginning, but mitigates later as east positions open up due to retirements. At least it allows older east F/O's to upgrade before leaving. The Nic appears not to sting at first, but locks out east pilots from upgrade later on as they retire at a greater rate. DOH allows both sides to upgrade in turn. The NIC does not.

DOH stings the West in the beginning?

I have been an a320 captain for over a decade. Under usapa's DOH seniority theft plan, I could not hold that very same seat and position I am now in for over another decade. What you are saying is that it should be fair to let a couple thousand east pilots have their turn with my seniority, and I can have it back two years after I retire.

No DOH does not sting in the beginning, it stings for the entire remainder of the West pilots careers, so that furloughed guys can have our jobs.

The Nic is actually a much fairer solution. Any east pilot who was going to upgrade has had their time lengthened by two years considering a straight stovepipe where everyone takes the first opportunity. In essence, if they were going to upgrade, they still will. What usapa is trying to do is get more of those who would not have upgraded seats at the direct expense of West pilots. This whole, well the West pilot is probably younger so they will just have to eat it BS is just that, nothing more than a false rationalization of why stealing their job should be allowed.

Are you kidding me, if you all already a 320 capt, no one can take that away from you and no one wants to do that to you regardless of what you think, but on the other hand your not going come here and take someones 76 or 330 slot either. You have seat protection or are boys telling you something else?

Happy to oblige,

Lets talk about how much the damages assesments will be for the usairways pilots who are not members of the West class.

I figure if we finally get a combined contract with the Nic implemented in Dec, 2012, that will be about four years of pay differential owed to West pilots. Something to the tune of all of your signing bonus, plus around 3k a year for 2 years should cover it.

I would also think that usapa election promise of lowering your dues rate will be a distant memory as they raise the rates to pay all the bills to Seham keeps milking out of usapa.

Damages for what? Operating within the agreed TA? When you get a chance to file DFRII, then start the damages clock.

.................................................................

I was thinking the same thing..
do you realize how clueless your above statment sound?
Has the west even read the proposal? Repeat after me, I don't want your left seat... I just want the left seats we brought to this **** party......

unless the company downsizes, closes a hub, then you will happily throw the westies under the bus with your C/R's. Seat protection is worthless in a closed base (ask the LAS guys)

What happens if they downsize phx?

If my nic senority allows me to hold a 76 or 330 slot, then it is what it is.

Remind me again how the DL/NW list was merged?

Oh and what happens to the westies when the next merger happens (under your plan?)

No thanks for now you can live under LOA 93

Nope, I'll stic

How old age and LOS entitle you to greater seniority?

No, I do not have seat protection, even in usapa's C&Rs. I have very limited domicile protection. No mention of say 142 group II aircraft will be retained for the West. Or seniority on those A/C will be relative to the West seniority. Only a number of seats in PHX, and if any east pilot gets into PHX, which by very definition of the C&Rs would occur almost immediately if PHX just stayed the same size, they will be senior to the West pilots that are already there.

Further, you have already stolen 1/3 of the 330 growth aircraft seats that you did not have prior to the merger.

Or are theiveing boys at usapa telling you something different?

Clueless? no, Preposterous, yes.

Of course I have read the proposal. The difference in my Nic number and the usapa proposal is over 2000. the C&Rs are meaningless tripe, concocted by one of the lead seniority theives.

I do not care what usapa wants or does not want. If the east is unable to have any measure of integrity, it will be forced upon you by the courts.

And you can stay in your current seat forever as far as I'm concerned. Not there is a chance of another merger happening or anything else you should be concerned about.

I used to be moderate, I voted for ALPA with the hope of reaching some other outcome. You guys have convinced this moderate that that was a silly thought and we might as well stick with DOH until the courts come back with something else ,and then I will vote no on every contract that has the Nic in it forever.

and then I will vote no on every contract that has the Nic in it forever.

That is your right. Must be relatively comfortable, safe on the side usapa is itrying to favor.

I will not even have a vote, because I refuse to join an association founded for the purpose reneging on our agreement.
