How about 20+ year E190 captains? Better?

Jim

Well, I guess, but again, so what? Otter's statement was east's failed careers. Does being a 20+ EMB captain mean a failed career? They could be a 767 F/O, or an A330 F/O. We all have choices, but I consider a career dead when the company goes away. I would imagine that most 20+ year east pilot have been more highly compensated that a 20+ year west pilot, if that is the yardstick.

BTW, I believe there are a few 99 hires that got EMB capt bids.

Usairways acquired 757's, a330-2's and e190's after the merger. We on the west have every right to those shared seats per the TA and LOA's.

I believe the 757s and EMBs were handled by an arbitritor, weren't they? You do want to abide by the arbitrator's decision, don't you? I don't know about the 332s.

Its called FIRE the people we pay/hire to represent us against usairways.

Awa would recall/fire their reps at a drop of a hat. (actually maybe to much) They either worked for ALL the pilots or they got their butts kicked out of union business.

simple enough

Hey bud, when you hve the numbers, fire away. If the west pilots had not been sitting on the sidelines waiting to see if Suzie would get them out of paying, maybe they would have voted someone other than Cleary in and we would be on a different track. Most didn't so here we are.

There are many east pilots that don't like Cleary, me included. If all west pilots get on board maybe a recall would fly.

How many additional block hours are the East flying?

My question is, are the a330-2's an addition to our fleet or replacements? Calls to east vp flt ops ed bular have turned up with no answer.

Good union pilots like you should know this.

seems thats what they call final and binding....................

You tell me - what would 20 years get a pilot at any other non-express airline in the country. Maybe not "failed" - they are flying airplanes - but certainly not anything like their peers at other airlines. Unless US just happened to hire every pilot who would rather be an E190 F/O or captain than be a wide body captain, that is....

I'd also just note that I didn't use the term "failed career"....

2) Observing what? Please give us chapter and verse of everything the west has unrightfully taken from you.

You haven't been allowed the chance to take anything from the east, which seems to be, why you're so twisted around the axle.

You keep changing your point. The point is you accused East pilots of stealing from the West. Even if it were true that the East has has taken flying from the West, the pilots don't have anything to do with where planes are flown. The fact remains both sides have less flying than when the merger was started. No body has been stealing anything. Separate ops by it very nature prevents any of that from occurring.

The EVP position is open for someone new because of the west and the east and it's recent vote. I want this union to go forward and get a better contract for all usairway pilots with checks and balances in place. Thats why I went against the bpr recommendation and voted to keep the EVP.

I told both bradford and cleary, "you treat me as an equal and you will have a BULLDOG in this union."

If you don't treat me and my fellow west pilots as equals, you have DFR lawsuits.

I guess in your mind, you keep whats yours and you take some of mine and let the arbitrator decide in the end.

Sounds like it's taken from a book from jerry glass/lee seham and company.

Per the TA, East was to have 208 planes and West was to have 133 - care to guess which side has more and which side has less now?

Separate ops by it very nature prevents any of that from occurring.

Au contraire. Wonder if you'd feel that way if only East airplanes were returned while new airplanes all went to the West...

No you didn't, you said this: "I'm sure those 10+ year guys/gals in the right seat of the 190 completely agree. Or those 25 year folks sitting to their left." That was in reply to busdrivers response to Otter, which seemed to me that you were offering support to his failed career premise. If that was not your intent, I apologize.

As I said, my career was not what I would have wished. I think some at Eastern, Braniff, Midway, Pan Am, National, ATA etc., might want to trade with me. I've never missed a paycheck and been able to raise my family with a pretty comfortable standard. If this outfit stays in business I will retire in the top 5%, even with NIC. I would have been better off at some other airlines, but few get to achieve their life goal(flying for Piedmont Airlines) at the age I did.

I voted same as you.Too bad you guys were so slow in joining.

Yeah, most in the top half the list say something similar. Of course, those on the wide bodies are the one's who say "LOA 93 for years? No problem". It's those at the bottom, who've spent more time on furlough than working, that may not feel quite as pleased with what their time has gotten them or the prospect of LOA 93 for years to come.

The April bid displaced those '99 hires from E190 Captain...the bottom guy is a Jan '90 hire. What do you think - could that guy be a 767 or 777 captain at any other legacy?
