The results provided a windfall, (against ALPA merger policy) for the America West pilots, this is powerfully evident by the polarization of the east and west pilot groups to date.
The East pilots do not want to take anything the West has. The West pilots are not very happy with staying on their side of the fence, because they realize the grass is greener on the other side.
The Cactus 18 are facing some very serious charges and they know it, USAPA as offered a solution but so far they have not accepted some could be career ending if found guilty but will see.
Like I said- the concept of putting a AWA new hire on top of a guy like Jeff Skiles with 17 yrs. logged in with no interruptions at all, is disgusting. Tell it to the guy on the street. You will get a reality check as to why it was a WINDFALL. Bottom line- there was an election. ALPA lost. Deal with it.Less than 3000 voted for USAPA, so I'll take your number as another made up "fact". But like I said, only the very dense or the very greedy...

Contact JG Wentworth today for that structured settlement. Why wait for the cash? Have it today!$5 mil would be a bit much for each of the Cactus 18, but I'd think 200-300K apiece would be a reasonable award for the harm suffered. But the issue here would be whether the institution is liable versus the individual USAPA officers who were behind the suit, as individuals. Libel and defamation are intentional torts which leads me to believe we're talking individual liability and not entity liability, but I really don't know. The 18's lawyer will surely have it figured out though. As for the Addington damages, take half of the collected dues money and you're still looking at $6 mil or so. That paid over a few years would go a long way to help make the injured West pilots whole, but nothing will ever make them totally whole at this point. The damages award would follow to any voluntary change of bargaining agents, so the only potential way to possibly avoid paying damages would be to go non-union. Boy, wouldn't that be a hoot!
Wow- is this how you guys get your hopes up all the time? It was like watching paint dry.
And you THINK it wasn't. So I guess its' a stalemate. It was enough to be the last in a series of miscalculations that got ALPA removed. That was the end result.I get that you and most of the other East pilots think it was a windfall. Unfortunately you confuse your opinion with fact yet again. The very dense or very greedy...

Jim, Please explain how a pilot that loses 17 years service to a new hire is greedy.Less than 3000 voted for USAPA, so I'll take your number as another made up "fact". But like I said, only the very dense or the very greedy...
