US ALPA/USAPA/West Thread for week of 3/22-29

On April 17 we will see who the winner is and then guess what? Either way we have a fractured group with egos and emotion speaking for logic and unionism. So I will watch out for "my own job" since that is all we have been doing as a pilot group since May anyway!

You're right about that. The division will last for quite some time I'm afraid. If ALPA should by chance prevail, I guarantee I will watch out for my job too. At least we agree on something for a change.

Congratulations to the men who prevailed against crushing odds to secure for the pilots a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Amazing. I have been told that it costs ALPA approximately $8000 to send out one mailing. Today I received 4. With all the correspondence coming my way you would think I should have a warm fuzzy over how well ALPA operates. What's more telling is how they worded them. FUDS!! Fear, uncertainty, doubt and speculation. Is this all ALPA can stand on?

It is very arrogant and presumptive of them to think I can forget 25 years of their brand of unionism. But please stay with us, please!, please! we have become accustomed to the lifestyle your hard earned dues money provides us.

Yes I agree. We owe a lot to the founders of USAPA for providing us the opportunity.

My 12 years of dues got me escorted off the property after 9/11....and ANY record of my EVER being there erased. The 1999+ hire dates got NO fuzzies after we were sent packing...NONE.

Longevity credit?...NOPE.

Benefits credit?.....NOPE


What I wound up with is a recall...thats it...I guess thats worth 12 years of dues....Now I have the benefit of arguing seniority and deaing with a West/East commute because ALPA couldn't extend a KNOWN VACANCY in the West system...they are short 13 spots...I want one...do I even get that after all these years?

Talk to your alpa/usap fellow east pilots about that west vacancy, they bailed out of the JNC. For what its worth, I'd welcome any east pilot out west that truly wanted to come out, even if hes ahead of me. I just don't like hijackings, thats just me though.

And I appreciate that...I don't want anything I'm not entitled to...but for ####'s sake, somebody explain to me why a new-hire gets PHX when at the VERY LEAST...I HAVE BIDDING RIGHTS BASED ON MY JULY9th 2007" class" from which I was held...even with my Jan 2000 hire date.

You know?...I'm sick of it.

And this is the crux of my bone with ALPA...

It's not your fault...hell. it's not even HP/ALPA's fault....it's a breakdown of the system as a whole...

I have and will always extend EVERY courtesy to any and all fellow pilots...as I have for 20 years.

And for the record, my friend, I have NO BONE with West pilots...they are doing what they feel is right...and I see that so are the East...it's all fcucked up.

I want no part of it...I'm not a PROUD ALPA memeber...I am because they say I have to be...or I'm fired. I'm actually embarrassed at the whole deal...a deal in which I play no part...but suffer all the consequences....as usual. under ALPA.

Lance is the poster boy of what ALPA is. He actively prevents any possibility of engaging in rational discourse, and yet asks for more of your money to widen the largesse enjoyed by the "elected" without regard for the electorate.

I'm almost tempted to read the latest, merely to have more material for posting, but I agree with you and am past wasting my time reading missives-from-morons about what greatness lies in Alpa, and how dark and fearfull the future will be without their mighty stewardship properly lording over my simple little mind...and simple little money of course.

And this is no ####...in the last 6 weekis..I have been blasted with letters' to "MEMBER"...

did they forget my name?..after 12 years X $60.00 per paycheck.....

please say it ain't so.....

Yep, and I won't even begin to tally the volume of emails, whcih, had they the individual weight of a fruitfly, would long ago have crushed my home. I honestly can believe that the blizzard of FUD within the last few months alone far outdoes all the alpa "information" I've ever received over my entire career. I suppose that they're just employing their long-standard approach, but upping the volume = "If you can't dazzle them with brilliance and achievments...baffle 'em with mountains of BS".

Ah well...Off to the sacred Polling Place!!! 😉 I can't remember the last time I had any even partial fantasy that my VOTE would count for anything within Alpo's world, or was even offered any vote...Gad!..I DO so love this feeling that what I think, finally does matter to those bastiges!..and that they'll have to actually hear it 😉

There, there sir; I'm very certain that Prater himself feels you to be a valued "Fellow Pilot" and true "Brother" and would likely even consider letting you polish his limo some day, if you asked really nicely...and gave him some more money of course. It's difficult to get by on a mere half million plus per year, as you must realize.
