Oz?

Now that is funny. ALPA attempting to caricature itself into legitimacy. I seee.. its really the paranoids we should be worried about?

Doesn't ALPA have some youtube adds ready to ask me to send in a card?

Kind of ridiculous isn't it?

Just like the USAPA youtube videos claiming that the BPR was just trying to "protect" the AWA pilots with their conditions and restrictions

Wasn't this guy available to anchor those videos:

ALPA had multiple cars at the AAA MEC building in Pittsburgh - even had special parking spaces up front.

I'm guessing many of the posters here have done no ALPA work in past but I have. If you stop and consider most pilots commute, plus the cost of rental cars every time a committee is in town .... it's far cheaper ( and more convient ) to buy a car than rent.

Ever looked at the cost of office equipment at a hotel? ALPA was paying ( during the Shuttle seniority hearings ) 50 % of the purchase price per day for copiers projectors etc.

Freighter, the reason I mentioned UAL MEC's cars was to see what kind of attack responses we would get. We got them. No point arguing directly with them on anything. I guess I didn't mention UAL once owned 2 Condos in ORD. Dont know if still true. Or their 2 cars in SFO. Or their MEC Chairman gets 100 hour/month AND per diem AND expense account. Alaska and DAL MEC Chairman got 100hrs/month. Even Comair's Chairman got 100 hours. But it makes no difference, you hit it right. Different conditions require different responses. West had only one domicile for years. Most of their officers living in PHX, Id bet.

Comparing LM-2s, APA has a yearly payroll of over $6M for 10,405 members. With 5,000 members, ours wont be close to $2M, year to year. APA has 20 pilots on FPL of over $150K/year each. Their president is paid over $250K/yr. SWAPA President made $253K salary last year plus per diem and expenses. SWAPA VP at $223K. Sure, both AMR and SWA pilots make more than us, but their leaders make a higher percentage than rank and file LCC C/Os.

West can argue the quality of representation all they want. So they dont like expenditures and pay, they can become members and change the union a lot easier than at ALPA. These guys just want something to complain about. lt wouldn't make any difference what it was.

Your right, buying a car is cheaper than rentals, even cheaper than auto leases. If we leased, they would complain we didn't buy. These guys just want to trash any thing USAPA does. Also, we are in the building in CLT because we got the space for a song. The set-up we have is cheap.

According to the Ford website a Taurus runs from $25,200 to $43,600 depending upon options selected.

Oh, please, Mike, buy the sport model!

In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is. Yogi Berra

the quote does not say a thing about Section 22, but rather "the seniority rights provided by or arising from the Nicolau Award".
We will see WHEN an IF nic ever gets implements in its original form.USAPA has the votes west has the judge and the company has one of the cheapest pilots contact in the business. The pilots are dead in the water. As time wears on. PHRASAL VERB: V P
What can be done NOW to move the process? There is a mechanism in place for airlines/unions to settle there disputes. Different airline now different union now. The stakes have modified.

There is no one to bargain with, both agreed to binding arbitration,( both sides sat in front of the board and presented their case, East was even warned to change their position by the arbiter and failed to do so.

East pilots started their own union to try and get out of binding arbitration, then USAPA was certified and both East and West MECs were gone.
.
Ok then the nic sits in a lock box until USAPA members can vote on a contract that all can live with
And yes the west has the judge in Arizona

It seems in all your posts you are confusing intra-union affairs with negotiating with the company under the RLA.
Is there a mechanism in place to settle intra-union dispute under RLA
If not then the whole past process doesn’t exist

Yes! Federal court. Were you not paying attention?

We did and usapa lost. DFR!

I don't know what a "pass process" is? Non-rev?

I heard Cleary's been invited by the PHX reps to address the west pilots next month. Will he be flying in First full-fare, or will he take the Taurus?

One thing sure, if its west metal, I doubt if he'll be jumpseating. Or maybe he should try, sending regrets if he gets denied. Like most west attacks, the rest of your post isnt worth commenting on.

Regarding ever seeing the NIC in a contract, as Yogi once said,
It ain't over till it's over.
