US-AA Merger Articles (Merged Topics)

Airways employees who had their retirement in company stock lost it all when the judge signed the bankruptcy papers. I remember two employees who said they lost 75K and another 125K.

BINGO! We have a winner! That's what a 30+ year employee told me. The person lost 80K in US stock.

The plot thickens...

I guess Parker is getting a bit nervous now that Horton has considered the idea of a merger, with AA in control! He now sees his big ego boost slipping away at Horton's hands.

At the slight risk of thread creep, I doubt Horton has any seniority lists in his desk drawer collecting dust. AA and Horton in control yet again changes that game.

Here's my prediction .... AA and US will merge soon, one way or another.
AA employees will lose their defined pension plan and retirement healthcare plan first.
Horton and Parker will get rich at your expense ...... ;).

US Airways just bought some of AA unsecured debt so that they can have a seat on the unsecured creditors' committee.

A million dollars worth of debt (likely worth less than half that in any POR unless secured) won't get US access to the UCC washroom, never mind a seat on the committee.

Your right Jim but it will let US in on AA's numbers . Which is wat they have been trying to get from AA. Clever move . You can't deny that .

Clever? Why would they need to waste a million?, They already bought 3 unions, Any one of those 3 unions accounting team could have gotten that info to DUI, unless he feels his deal with those unions falling apart, which it is! MM

Sure its a stunt, and one that could cause their top brass to lose their millions upon exiting BK on their own.
