TWU negotiations.........what?

Just give me what was taken from us and start negotiating from that point.

Sounds great, but technically, nothing was taken from you -- it was negotiated away voluntarily by your union.

Eric, what was negotiated? I remember being told there would be a full revote after cAArty was cAAught with his hand in the cookie jar. I was never given that opportunity. So hence something was taken from me.

It was taken away. Little had already stated had the concessionary deal been voted down, he as the Director would have implemented it.
Hence, alot was taken away from me.

Its not our union, its AAs union, they are the ones who bribe them to the tune of $3 million a year.

I know the membership feels robbed, but it was still the TWU (even if it was without a ratification vote) who negotiated the 2003 agreement.

Had it been ordered by a judge in a S1113 hearing, or dictated as a result of a PEB, I'd agree that something was taken away by the company, but that wasn't the case here. It was still consensual, regardless how much you disagree with what your negotiators agreed to.

As consensual as all the agreements south American dictators and UFC made.
This way nothing was taken away from the people after all.It was just what their
negotiators ( dictators ) agreed to.
Life is really this simple, is it not?

Wrong again, the company pays $3million a year in bribes to the TWU in order to get whatever it wants. We have no rights over the contract, its owned by the TWU International and the members do not get to vote for them.

You will go to any extent to try and argue that you were robbed by the company, but the fact remains that the TWU signed the restructuring agreement.

If you were robbed by anyone, it was by the officials you accuse of being corrupt, not the company.

I feel like I was robbed by both, in collusion with each other. I believe the textbook term for that is a sweetheart contract. And, we're talking junior high here, folks.

I won't argue the fact that it was a sweetheart contract, but it doesn't change the fact you need to be holding your union accountable for that.

I would certainly agree, as any company's goal is to pay the very least it must to employ and manage the most efficient and skilled workforce it can. A union's responsibility is to provide the most efficient and skilled workforce for not one penny less than the company can afford.

TWU is now ready for negotiations as I saw the new slogan on a button today.

Something about

"Don't Mention
My Pension"

Now we are officially ready for section 6 openers.

Once the TWU has the slogan in place, the corporate lawyers better look out. The Toolbox negotiators are armed with the slogan and ready for battle..... er uh pity.

I disagree. It was done by both.
I would have agreed with your opinion, if the company did not have gotten involved in the attempt
of some union members to change representation.
The company was heavily involved with the TWU campaign to avoid the vote.
They were not a neutral party.
Thats why my previous comment was spot on.

Install/retain the dictator and rip the benefits.
