TWU negotiations.........what?

Automatic "no" vote here. When do we strike?
My bills are paid off, I've got money in the bank, and I'm ready to work any crappy jobs I have to for as long as it takes. If we lose, at least we went out like men, not serfs.

Darryl
Displaced AMT for over six years (over $60,000 in lost license premium and counting!) with no hope in sight of getting back to AO.

How much are we giving back
If we are getting 6 percent then we must be giving up 11 percent be it work rules or pay

Do not worry.
We just need Dennis to run again in Tulsa,so that he can put his hand back in that pocket.
Freaking losers.

Speaking of our darling "returnees" - did anyone, bychance, ever find out what they did to incur the wrath of Little Jimmy Little?

Ok, so the compAAny offers a two year deal last May of 08 that included a 5% lump, 3.5% lump at +12, 3 vacation days, 3 holidays (all of which have been forfeited to date), 1.5 to 2.0 holiday pay when worked, 100% sick pay restored, and other incidentals. A year later the TWU counters with much less? TWU represetation and a cup of coffee:pRICELESS

I've asked this question to which the reply I got was that it is not the same because some key concessions that the company wants are not included and it includes raises. The company wants the retiree medical to be gone or turned over to the TWU, same thing. They want eagle to grow by increasing the asm cap to 9%, a win-win for Little. And they want the pension to be gone for new hires. I was told that they fully expects the company to reject this offer because it doesn't include these concessions. Also i was told that this is a take it or leave it offer and that they expect a response in July. One last thing he said was that the mediators is working 6 different cases besides ours so we only get to meet every 6 weeks or so.

I heard the COLA was taken off the table as far as negotiations go. Since I am sure it wasnt voted off by the high cost of living locals it would be safe to assume it was voted off by the overhaul base local (AFW EXCLUDED). A good way to cut costs would be to spin off overhaul and pay the pig farmers like they do in Mexico or China. Since they dont make much and it dont cost much to live in places like Tulsa I think it would be a win win for the company and the overhaul bases. You get to have a job but at a reduced rate of pay which shouldnt be a problem since we are doing it out here on the Line JMHO

Regional pay was was removed by way of a motion from Local 561. Supported by ORD(563), DFW(565). Dont know about COLA.

I would love to know what Scumbag from local 561 made that motion so I could kick him in the balls. What a company man JACKASS. And what is with the retard in Chicago did the cost of living suddenly go down this week. Another looser. Keep up the good work

Word on the rock has it that your Miami prez made the motion to get rid of regional pay and it was seconded by your title 2 guy. They are also saying this was taken out in order to keep the eagle cap concession out of this.

Amazing the Miami folks voted this guy in...

The bottom line is that Chicken Little is taking over the negotiations to bend us over for the company. He is promising these local presidents grander things if they sell this POS to the membership.

The Miami Prez is a puppet for Don V. and Jim Little. He will do what ever he is told to do.

Tulsa Prez abstained on the regional pay issue.

WTF does GEO pay have to do with the eagle cap concession.

Was it not Todd Woodward the local 561 pres that was spotted leaving the hotel where the company negotiators were staying last year? Then when word got out, he checked himself into rehab twice to let the issue settle down. What is the point of having a union with leadership like this? Having a negotiating committee offer the company such a weak proposal - then have it rejected. That proposal looked like something that the company may have offered. People, we are in trouble with the current union representation. <_<

Its so bad that the company will agree to it!
I suspect that they will come back with a counter proposal. Probably something similar to the May 2008 offer. No pensions for newhires, and possible OSM's at B check stations. Also interviews for C/C positions similar to TCC positions. At this point the TWU table position is so low that I doubt that we will get anything meaningfull out of this. So much for "restore and more". Two years of nonsense and wasted time.

... snip, hack, lop ...

Gee - what, may I ask, was your first clue?

Most determined many years ago that TWU actually stands for Totally Worthless Union.

What is needed is some manner of alliance that has a constitution similar to AMFA yet doesn't engage in class warfare amongst the workers as AMFA did. There is great strength in numbers, contrary to what a few overly prideful SOBs would have had us believe. This is not an worker vs: worker game, rather, worker vs: company.

The TWU crossed that line long ago and has become one with the company.

It's unfortunate for the working class there is no union, association, or whatever label in the USA today whose function is pro-worker, rather, the sole function of all is to perpetuate their own existence at the cost of the workers.
