TWU negotiations.........what?

It has been so long ago I have forgotten all of the details, but some of what you said is incorrect. DL took over the European routes and all of the 747 aircraft

Delta didn't take any Pan Am 747's, the A310's and some 727's were it.

Until the NW purchase DL hasn't had a 747 in revenue service in almost 30 years.

Root around on airliners.net, see if you can find a 747 in DL livery in the 80's or 90's...

you wrote a federally appointed mediator..................NOT...........it was a mutual selection of Kasher..................BY THE UNIONS

Hopeful didn't write "mediator." He wrote "arbitrator."

Perhaps a vision check is in order?

Elaborate my friend. Where am I in error?

You subtracted one percentage (the amount of the minimal raise, or 1.5%, or about $900) from a different percentage (5%, your asserted medical insurance contribution annual increase) and netted them. That's not correct.

What you're asserting is that your medical insurance contributions increased by $3,000 or so each year, when they clearly did not. That would mean that you now contribute about $15k to $18k each year toward your medical insurance. And since you don't, it demonstrates your lack of proficiency with percentages.

Yes, your medical insurance may have increased by 5% a year, but that 5% is on the very small initial contribution. Your paltry annual 1.5% raise was applied to your total hourly wages (which I estimated to be about $60k in 2003 after the concessions were imposed).

To answer your initial question, there is someone who has compiled everything you lost - contact Bob Owens. I often disagree with him, but he doesn't make such extreme computational errors.

<_< ----- Your a dreamer dog! You know, your going down the same path we at TWA did! ----- You know! That "failed" Airline you like so much! ------ It'll become longer and longer between new contracts! And you'll be getting further, and further behind! ------ They'll always have an excise for keeping you down dog!!! But you know something dog? The saying "your lucky to have a job", in this new environment, takes on a whole new meaning! ----- You know something else? It feels good for a change, being on the outside looking in!
You know MCI, I'm right there with you. It is better to be viewing all this from the outside. I hope you're enjoying your retirement.

Big difference between what happened at TWA and what happens at AA. The unions at AA will NEVER allow AA to go bankrupt. At the end of the day, the TWU will have us work for minimum wage before they cede union dues.

That's the truth!!

When is the next scare coming from Little Jimmy, anyway? Isn't he overdue?

<_< ------- Hopeful, what do you think happened at TWA? The IAM told us you will take these concessions or they will close the doors! ------AA," We need these concessions, or we'll be forced to go into bankruptcy!" Sound familiar? We went over ten years without a meaningful raise!----- AA and TWU, and other company Unions, are working on that!--- No? When I said we've been down that road, I meant it!

<_< -----For those still on the property, let's hope not! But once down that road, the trend is hard to break!------ Stay on top of your Union reps!!

<_< ------ Oh! I forgot! I'm irrelevant!----- So I'll get back to my rum and coke, and taking in the view!!------ Went fishing, look what I caught!

 Now that MCI and I have gone back to our corners and we all agree % are not my strong point, lets get back on topic. I`d like to make a request from you company minders. Remember how you beat us over the head daily about oil and how much it cost the compnay everytime it went up a penny? Now lets hear how much we are saving now that is around 40/bbl and we have given you the concessions you so sorely needed. How much have our costs gone DOWN on oils drop? Don`t cloud it with the "bad" economy. Lets here the story, I`m going love how you company types spin this one...fire for effect......

When the company wanted the 2003 concessions they went through great lengths and efforts to achieve it. Since the company is benefitting everyday we have gone past the ammendable date they are in no rush. It seems not to bother anyone that we are being disrespected by not bargaining in good faith after all we have given up.
My question has always been: " why didn't the company just start giving some of the concessions back that they took( in good faith), why make us negotiate or better yet make us beg after gutting our contract to the level or worse of the bankruptcy proposal"?
The theory being that by voluntarily giving some concessions back would show that they were serious in coming to terms and that we would still continue to negotiate but with something to show for it upfront.
It seems to be always a one way street!

This is why RETRO is so important. We do not want our pay from date of signing (DOS). WE must have our base wages increase not a one time cash infusion. If we do not get RETRO pay then why have an ammendable date all?

Do you think oil will stay this price or do you think the ME might want to eek out all the money they can? $2 a gallon used to really suck, now it's great. You think the price will stay low for the duration of the new contract? Do you see how much red ink AA has? Do you think a few months or even years of $2 fuel will erase that debt?
