Isn't it Local 530 who are representing their members' interests? Aren't they the ones who brought this issue before Kasher? I have read local 530's arguments and they are without merit. And after reading Kasher's ruling and explanation, I find them to be logical and correct. But if AA had downsized AFW and sent the work to MCI and the nAAtives made the argument that the ex-TWAers are now making, I'm certain that you would be in 1000% agreement with Kasher's ruling on DRC #33. This was just another failed attempt by the ex-TWAers to get their TWA seniority at AA.<_< ------ Yep! Just another example of TWU fairness! "Kasher and his DRC's!" The International goes to Kasher and tells him they have a problem!------ But who's there to represent exTWAer's best interests?-------"NO ONE!" Kasher see the problem from one side only! The International don't give a damn about exTWAers! Their only interested in placating people like you aa!-------It's like going to court, but your not allowed to have a lawyer present to defend you!------- So it's not surprising what results come from him! They've done it time and again!-------- What do you expect?
 THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS TWA SHOULD HAVE BEEN STAPLED TO THE BOTTOM OF THE LIST. YOU PEOPLE HAVE BEEN VERY FORTUNATE TO GET AN EXTRA 7 YEARS COURTESY OF US NAATIVES. UNTIL CAARTY MADE THE DUMB MOVE OF AQUIRING TWA WE WERE GOING TO BUILD HERE AT AFW, BUT NOOOOOOOOOO WE HAD TO TAKE ON YOUR MESS. THE SOONER WE RID OURSELVES OF TWA RESIDULES WE CAN GET BACK TO RECOVERING THIS GREAT AIRLINE. I AM SEEING PLENTY OF YOU HERE AT AFW. YOU ARE WELCOME. FLAME ON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MY DEAR CONHEAD, WE BOUGHT..I.E. "PAID FOR " TRANSWORLD AIRLINES AND ALL THEIR ASSETS. sO NOE FRIEND IT WAS NOT A MERGER BUT AN ALL OUT AQUISITION. "merged by d.o.h" FAT,DRUNK AND STUPID IS NO WAY TO GO THRU LIFE CONEHEAD. THESE ASSETS SHOULD ALL HAVE 4-10-01 SENORITY NO MATTER WHERE THEY ARE. BTW I AM FAR TO YOUNG"41" TO NEED DEPENDS. WHATEVER HAPPENS WITH THESE CLOWNS I AM BASICALLY UNAFFECTED. PANDERING TO A GROUP OF HARD LUCK STORIES IS POINTLESS BUT COULD COST SOME NAATIVES. THE BEST WAY TO RIGHT SIZE OUR AIRLINE IS TO JETTISON ALL THINGS TWA. SORRY FOLKS TRUTH HURTS...................FLAME ONCorrect me if I am wrong but wasn't that a merger or aquisition?
The two groups should have merged by DOH (only fair).
Unlike when DL bought some Pan Am routes and equipment,But still merged employee groups (even though those employees had to interview and were basicly new hires).
Seems like it is you who needs the tissues and Depends.
It was an asset purchase in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation sale. If it was a merger or acquisition, by law, it would have to have been voted on by AMR shareholders. I have been a holder of AMR stock since the late 1990s and have never received any voting materials pertaining to a "merger" or "acquisition" of TWA. DOH would have NOT been fair to AA employees because the TWA employees had extremely high seniority at TWA. AA employees would have been effectively stapled below them. TWA mechanic and ramp did get binding arbitration but were furious that the arbitrator didn't give them DOH systemwide. The sweet prospect of repairing their dead TWA careers on the backs of nAAtives had eluded them. They had better get used to it because it is eternal. Funny you mention Pan Am/Delta; Delta took the assets they wanted (JFK hub, European routes, the shuttle, the A-310s, and a few 727s) and left the rest to rot on the vine (Latin America, 727s, 737s,A-300s, and 747s). Pan Am perished quite quickly after DL purchased the aforementioned assets. DL did indeed hire some, but not all of, Pan Am's unionized domestic employees, and not in seniority order. They hired who THEY wanted to hire AFTER AN INTERVIEW. Everyone at DL is non-union except the pilots. Although DL uses seniority for it's non-union staff, there is nothing to say that they must; people can be reassigned shifts, vacations, days off, etc. at management's whim. Likewise, AA purchased only the TWA assets it wanted and left the rest to die; it didn't take the 767-200s, gates at certain airports, and the JFK-TLV route. AA did however, hire all TWA domestic union employees; which was a lot more than the Pan AM people got. TWA people didn't have to interview and they kept their TWA seniority with respect to their TWA peers. Even after the cutbacks, there are still a few thousand of them at AA; many were able to go to another station. The TWA people that are on layoff have recall rights; the same can not be said of the Pan Am people that DL DIDN'T HIRE. Thousands of TWAers have been able to retire, take SIS, or VBR with a pension and retirement medical. Those who have retired, quit, or got laid off, got anywhere from an additional 2 to 8 years extension on their careers. For the many who are still at AA, they are continuing to earn top legacy pay in addition to accruing more pension benefits.Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't that a merger or aquisition?
