TWU negotiations.........what?

adult choices you speak of? where are your adult choices in the last 30 years of concessionary contracts? since you are the senior one in the group you claim, where was your great leadership and stickimg your neck out for the future? seems to me like you failed to provide the skills and leadership going forward. I have never heard of you before during all the strifes in my last 21 years or maybe so if i knew who you are. you have alot to say about everyone else and we know nothing about you. Maybe we should call you overspeed and under committed.

and as far as turning down the 2010 TA, once and for all, that was just a promise if we all settled. Knowing what we know now, that 2010 TA never would have seen the light of day, how could that have saved jobs! So do us all a favor and stop blaming Bob for the bankruptcy and make him the scapegoat for the TWU who is failing once again and who will bring the whole industry down again. the ramp guys had a TA and that did not help them. Overspeed you should send an apology letter now to Continental,United, SWA,US air, Fedex, jetblue, alaska employees and apologize that when their next contract comes up they will use ours as the hammer to force concessions from their contracts again. Congrats we are a leader in something.

aren't we tired of being the leading concessionary union in the industry, I am, Bob Owens is, my local 562 board is. apparently some of you are Ok with it.

It is sad when Delta management tells their mechanics with pride that "they don't need a union, look what their doing to them and they pay dues for it, You do better without a union" the TWU will never be able to organize anyone if this goes through!

Overspeed do your self a favor and speak from yourself, your accomplishments, and your ideas going forward and stop being only a critic of others. Blaming Bob is just getting old and stale.

Chuck your funny. Truth is I am committed to bringing the truth out to the light of day. More money on the table? No. BK was a threat? No. The truth is Bob and people like yourself has backed themselves in to a corner. You have to stick with your position or you will look like a fool. The fact is, you are a fool for following such a misinformed person who refuses to understand all the variables in play.

The 2010 TA would have been implemented date of signing so you lie about people not getting any benefit of the TA's higher pay rates. Even if AA had gone to BK after the TA, we would have been working from a higher starting point to argue with the judge. Again, nice job on trying to mitigate your bad recommendation to vote no. We aren't bringing everyone else down, the manipulation of the BK laws, the new pension funding laws enacted in 1978 that allowed them to be underfunded, and a public that wants everything cheaper and doesn't care about you and me.

I am tired of being concessionary but what is happening in BK will be the biggest concession of all. As we drop to lowest paid, as we match industry standard on outsourcing, as we join others with frozen pensions, and as we see all our work rules gutted we can thank who? Not me. I always said BK court was one place we did not want to go. Was AA going to go to BK regardless of us? I don't know but this company needed to change or die. In BK we do not have the power to order a liquidation and by Bob saying he would rather have AA shutdown is a testament to his arrogance and how uneducated he is about how the system works.

DL doesn't tell their people with pride there mechanics don't need a union, they raise their pay just enough to make them not want to. If they LOVED their mechanics why not pay the WN wages? Because they don't have to! Why are mechanics here? Because management loves us? No. They have to have a just enough to do the work that the gov't requires.

I do speak for myself and this board is a open forum. Does free speech apply here or only to those who agree with you and Bob?

I get it ,set the bar lower for everyone else in negotiations. You seem to overlook that every other airline contract was better than what we turned down NUFF SAID get a grip !!!

Here in NY if they were to Liquidate we would get Unemployment Insurance pay and healthcare for our kids from the state for many months. Since 2003 I've seen many people leave on their own, only saw one come back. There are jobs out there even in this economy for people who can fix things and are willing to work.

Revealing your true motives some more are we? You are only worried about what the NYC guys get? What about the other states where people are employed. Hey Bob, why don't you get something where you can take the RIF in place of others so you can get one of those great paying jobs that are everywhere?

Number two in pay in negotiations was not lowering the bar. Nuff said.

The mechanics are still here because $34/hr, less benefits and a reduced pension is better than the alternative. The airlines will keep reducing pay, benefits and DBP until the workers reach a tipping point and run out the door for better opprotunities. I guess we're not there yet! We'll see in 6 years.

Good people have been leaving the last few years, and more of us will be leaving soon.

It really puzzles me that many here believe that it is okay to once laid off, to spend months on unemployment insurance. Doesn't this money come out of the pockets of the tax payers?

it's one of the reasons why this country is broke? there's lots of people living on the 99 week Obama plan.

I remember in the 70's when my dad was laid-off he received 26 weeks.....

In years gone by when we went to war taxes were raised to pay for it. In years gone by we were not the policemen of the world
these people have the nerve to call themselves conservative.I almost forgot we even give tax breaks to oil cartels that rape their own country.
ECONOMIC TREASON

ECONOMIC TREASON
we are the policeman of the world that holds our best interests, such as....

middle east...oil

europe....bonds and credit default swaps

we are at war with an unknown enemy....one that doesn't wear a uniform....and, one that bankrupted this country. There are lots of contractors that have made billions to protect the oil. yet, you and I pay $5/gal for gas.
