TWU negotiations.........what?

Well I am crushed now.

Better to be an employed TWU suck boy than an unemployed AMFA suck boy at NWA, UA, and AS.

Overspeed, let me ask you a question....How little is Overspeed willing to work for just to be employed?
What is your breaking point? Would you be willing to work for the same money and have NO beneifts?

Please tell us, what is your breaking point?

Are you going to educate us on the AMFA at NWA? Really, I don't think so. I had friends and family there, I know first hand what went down. If put into the same position as the AMFA at NWA, I'm confident the TWU would not have done any better. You are a weak, sniveling, poor excuse for an AA AMT - that is, if you really are! <_<

Dude, he's not one of us....

Look fool...I'm working at the same place you are. And I've only been here for a few mos, but I've seen all I need to see. The AA mech & related is SO screwed with the TWU. Of course, AA has more mechs than everyone else(for now, going to change), they're the 2nd lowest paid mechanics in the industry, and highest number of OSMs performing a/p mech work at our bases-full blessing from TWU, of course. It's all going to come to a head soon enough, and I'll probably be furloughed. That's fine...I rolled the dice knowing full well this was a real possibility. I'll land on my feet.
AAs time has come. They too will be forced to play ball the way other carriers hands have been forced. Of course, the TWU will count on TULE to meekly accept whatever AMR executives deem acceptable in this deeply troubling time for the company. So long as the headcount is basically the same for uninterupted flow of dues money. Business as usual for the Totally Worthless Union. Not that the Intl boys will feel any of the pain...

And the NWA mechanics?... were allowed to vote whether to strike or not. Steenland wanted AMFA to strike. He had prepared for a yr and a half for the day the NW mechanics went out. But the NW mechs fully understanding they were about to be gutted one way or anther, walked and decided it's better to stand tall and live on your feet like real union men, than on your knees like the TWU boot licking, management suck asses. But you know all of this and are merely here to antagonize & torment the very ones that pay the dues.
I've never seen anything like it in my entire career...

Btw, many a "Association" has done just fine, ace...Allied Pilots Association, Assoc of Prof Flt Attend, Intl ASSOCIATION of Mach & Aerosp Workers,etc......rather idiotic statement now isn't it?

And yes you would've too..................I've got you nailed fool.

So Steenland "wanted" a strike and you did? So he played the game and you lost. Just like Bob played the game and lost. So being played by management and pushed out of a job is winning. Just like Charlie Sheen is "winning".

The IAM is AFL-CIO affiliated. The APA and APFA are not. Didn't the APA get spanked by a federal judge to the tune of $45M and almost get bankrupted?

You seem to stuck in avery destructive cycle. Any activity, substance, object, or behavior that has become the major focus of a person's life to the exclusion of other activities, or that has begun to harm the individual or others physically, mentally, or socially is considered an addictive behavior.

It would seem that many are and have been looking for a different form of representation. Maybe it is a search for a non-affiliated AFL-CIO union or just representation for the mechanics alone without the association of the rest of the TWU. I am sure that there are many who are satified with the Status Quo.

Okay Oh-Speedy-One do you have a degree in psychology ?

Dude, he's not one of us....

If "us" is a group of angry self destructive individuals I am most definitely not one of you. As a over 35 year veteran of aviation maintenance and experience on everything from general to commercial aviation including rotor wing I have more than paid my dues. And continue to do so.

I apologize if offended you by wanting to keep good paying jobs. Using your number of 2nd lowest paid (doubtful), is 2nd lowest paid better than unemployed or working at an AAR or TIMCO for $25. I hope you or anyone else never finds out.

Dude.

Well we seem to have an abundance if sh*t house lawyers, economists, and finance experts, why not add in psychologist right.

we'll know when AAR in OKC gets applicants from x-AA mechs with families to feed, I'm sure there are a lot of company's in TUL/DFW area offering $30 an hour plus benefits starting. What's better working for AA at our pay + benefits or working for AAR away from home for $25 no benefits for the first year? It appears like the TWU has done pretty good for the TUL mechs. It took BK for AA to effect TUL in a hugely negative way.

If things are so good outside of AA why are there mechs with 11-28-11 seniority in TUL!!!!!!

We've already lost one new hire on our dock, went back to where he left. And he was offered more $ to return.(kinda tells ya something huh?)sometimes I wonder just when's the last time some of you guys have had to apply for a (real) comml av job?

Some of us are working on it... And before it's all said and done, the TULE mechs will probably be damn lucky to be making 30/hr plus (shitty)benes-minus pension of course.

I can certianly understand why some new hire would leave, I don't understand why you don't follow him to his job? TULE mechs are going to have a whole new way of life I think. Not many rule changes left to change for line mechs.

If the AFL-CIO carries even an ounce of water in the "game", then why haven't the bankruptcy laws that are anti-labor been revised?
Why haven't over seas MRO's been required to have random drug and alcohol testing?
Why did the APA and the APFA get the same seat on BK Commitee that the TWU did?
Why did Right-to-Work get passed in Oklahoma?
Why have Oklahoma Workers Compensation Laws been changed in favor of Corporate America?
Why do indepenent unions replace AFL-CIO unions instead of the other way around?
Why are 200 jobs from MOC still leaving Tulsa?

The AFL-CIO is a complete failure, there is no evidence the AFL-CIO carries any water on any large political issue.
The only place the AFL-CIO has any strength is in your mind and the minds of the other minions that drink that Kool-Aid.

Fool Thinking

All it takes is a simple change in SCOPE and Daily Flight Formulas and more Line AMT's will be looking for work than Overhaul AMT's

You should consider coming out of your chimera and get back to reality.

I was actually okay with the $39.85 I was going to make on midnights in the July 2010 TA, keeping my retiree medical, and pension.

Why are these new people not hiring on with UPS and WN at $40 plus? Hmmmm...

There it is - the hypocrisy we were looking for. You were part of the over 50 crowd, and were willing to screw your (under 50) union brothers out of their retiree medical? That was only one of the reasons I voted that turd down.
Don't even talk about line vs ovhl like you have some moral high ground! You were only thinking about yourself while trying to lay guilt trips on people that disagreed with you.
