TWU negotiations.........what?

Oh now I get it.

The TWU is still the TWU only AA has learned advanced tactics to take advantage of the good ol'e TWU.

I really thought for a minute that you were trying to convey a message of change.

I bet we are looking at anti-union performance and measure based pay with no guarantees on who or what determines required targets to increase your pay. Sure in theory you could possibly earn a full snap back, but in reality it will never happen.

In Tulsa terms, the union is already busted and non-existant. It is far more popular is Tulsa to be a management counterpart or suck ass than to file a grievance because the labor agreement has been violated. Violations everyday go unchallenged and nobody cares to take a stand.

Management has is figured out. As long as the TWU has a counterpart to every management level then over manned in management is never challenged by the so-called union. Now we will have to subsidize will pay and benefit concession, twice as many unproductive overmanned management positions and empires. It is really quite disgusting in Tulsa from my perspective NO UNION = NO STRENGTH....

Will not surprise me if the TWU once again sells us managements smoke screen and bull####.

Incredibly you can go to the Local Grocery Store, Hardware Store, Automotive Repair Shop, Carpet Cleaning, ect. and every where you look you see a Tulsa based AA employee working their second job. But yet, we still don't have any union strength or desire to change things.

Why is the TWU not banding together with the pilots and flight attendants like they preached in 2003? Is it that the TWU is jockeying for position and back dooring their union counter parts of prior negotiations. I will find it very interesting if the TWU/AA contract proposal will include some kind of Bankruptcy protection for our CBA. This will further the speculation that the company has an alternate plan for the pilots and flight Attendants if they can't agree on terms of a contract and the the TWU was on the fast track all along! I would not be surprised at all!

The TWU has allegedly has submitted a proposal to the company on our behalf.
I say allegedly because I am not able to see the proposal and they won't tell us what is in it.
On our behalf is subjective because what is proposed and what we eventually get has always been two different things.
If history proves correct, the way the contract is written will have us all guessing on the actual meaning and gurantee us it is not what we think it to be.

Just my thoughts

Just be lucky you have a job and accept another 3 years with what you are working under now, with a 10 per cent pay cut. The pilots could use that 10 per cent now.

Just so any potential TA is slack on the facts: below are the numbers our TWU Officials are earning while they claim to be negotiating the "best possible deal" for us. PleAAse note that the top four Administrative Secretaries earn six figure incomes.

Cannot figure out how to place a table, the rough input has everything in rows but the end product is a mess: any help on importing tables into the discussion?

this is all you need to know right here
Yep, while our pay has declined by approximately 40% Littles has nearly doubled. Courtesy of our dues.

They reward themselves for a "job well done" after screwing over the workers. Not much different than management, they get increases as we get decreases.

I have alwas maintained that anyone that believes the union is looking out for us is sadly mistaken. After all, there would be no "Union Business", would there?

Well I heard from the floor that AA wants to increase the SRP headcount to about 50% at the main bases and implement them at the line stations at a smaller number, about 25% or so. Also caught wind that AA wants to eliminate our pension plan and they will do some kind of 401K match. If anyone with half a brain decides to go for the pension elimination over the 401K match they need to have their head examined. Many of us can not afford to fund our 401K to any reasonable amount which would make a noticeable difference in our retirement. To have the company eliminate one source of retirement income in order to help fund another that already exists is pure suicide for us. We currently have three sources of retirement. Why give up one and lose money? Let the company financial wizards fund the pension while we try to pay our bills and put what little left we have in our 401K. We are not financial wizards. At least the pension plan is a fixed amount of income guaranteed (for now). Relying on the 401K is a bad investment. The market is volatile.
We may even end up losing money instead of making money. The SRP rumor if true will open up the door for more unlicensed AMT's system wide. This will save the company money and eliminate the skilled license individual. Think how much AA will save. Lower pay, no license premium and what ever else they can cut out. Think the TWU will go for this? Only if it saves Jobs (Union Dues). I hope that this is only floor talk and not really what is coming down the road. But with the close chummy relationship the TWU has with the Company anything goes as long as it saves jobs and makes money for the union and company.
